first of all it is importand for a young lady to stay pure until the day or her marriage. Its something very beautiful when two people love eachother and wait. If a women gets raped i believe it is very painful but, it is not the childs fault. Maybe that child could of been me or you.

The concept behind abortion is really quite stupid. Lets practice birth control by killing a human. Why limit it to pregnancy, how about allowing parents to kill their kids once they are born and become a problem? Same difference a life is a life, unwanted is unwanted. As the advocates of abortion reason so well that abortion helps with population control and unwanted babies, lets round up the poor that are on welfare and do away with them to. The bottom line is that it is repugnant to kill a human merely for conveinence, and any way you slice it an abortion is killing a human life. End of story.

I would also like to add, that how interesting it is, that the same people who are so rabidly against abortion, the true FANATICS, are also the ones who are FOR WAR, HUNTING INNOCENT ANIMALS, GUN RIGHTS, DEATH PENALTY and I might add, have no tolerance for anyone who does not believe in their radical version of Christianity. Go think abou that one now..

So when the girl doesnt want the baby and throws it in a ditch or lets it lie alone hungry in some dark room or better yet shakes it out of frustration until its poor body goes in to seizures from the brain bleeds that it has... lets see which is worse dying that way or being terminated at 12 weeks. On a personal note, I dont agree with late term abortion or partial birth abortion... but I guess all those who voted for Obama do!! No one as the right to tell another what they can do with their body but there should be time constraints and if a woman uses them for birth control and as more than one abortion she should be sterilized!!

Abortion is a horrific act against a vulnerable human, based off of self-absorbed thoughts and wants, in which a mother gives permission to another to rid her child of his/her life, because it is an inconvenience and/or shame to her. Abortion steals the one unalienable right that is needed to possess the others. How is one expected to enjoy the right of liberty and to pursue happiness (and other unnamed rights), when he is lacking life?
"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness..." ^1
From the aforesaid one can conclude that every human possesses these rights. Now comes forth the question: who has the right to deprive another of these privileges? Since every human has these rights, they share equality; no human possesses more rights than the others. If one holds the right to deprive others of their privileges, the equality , that is supposedly shared throughout the human race, does not exist Equality cannot exist when one human has more, or less, rights than another, and when one is above the others with the power to deprive them of their rights.
"A state also of equality wherein all the power and jurisdiction is reciprocal, no one being more than another, there being nothing more evident than that creatures of the same species and rank, promiscuously born to all the same advantages of Nature, and the use of the same faculties, should be equal amongst another, without the subordination or subjection...." ^2
Whether a human has sovereignty or not, he is still equal to others. It is a matter of whether he has the power to deprive others of their unalienable rights. When a mother decides to have an abortion, she is making the decision to take the most crucial, unalienable right from her own child. She is also deciding that the child is on a level of inferiority, that the child's life holds a value less than equal to her own. Equality is abused time and again when a mother makes the decision to abort her child. Are humans truly equal to one another? Why are they allowed to devalue each other in such a horrendous way?
"Though this be a state of Liberty, yet it is not a state of license; though man in that state have an uncontrollable liberty to dispose or his person or possessions, yet he has not the liberty to destroy himself, or so much as any creature in his possession..... There cannot be supposed any such subordination among us that may authorize us to destroy one another, as if we were made for one another's uses, as inferior ranks of creations are for ours." ^3
No human should have the right to take the property of another. Life, Liberty, the Pursuit of Happiness, and other unnamed rights cannot be taken away from another without one committing a serious offense.
Equality should be shared throughout the human race, for every man should possess the same unalienable rights. No human should hold the right to deprive others of their aforesaid privileges. Any human that decides when another should die is abusing equality and another's right to life.
"The State of Nature has a Law of Nature to govern it, which obliges every one, and reason, which is that law, teaches all mankind who will but consult it, that being all equal..., no one ought to harm another of his life, health, liberty, or possessions..." ^4
Every human should have the unalienable rights whether he is independent or dependent. Is the state of Life ruled by survival of the fittest? If so, no child would ever live to see a day.
Does it not state in the United States of America's Declaration of Independence that every human is equal and has the unalienable rights? How is it that the human race has come to the decision that every mother has the right to choose when her own child dies? Why is it that a human, equal to all other humans, has the right to deprive another, he/she is equal to, of his/ her unalienable rights? Is the child not human? Is the child's life so insignificant that the child does not deserve to possess the unalienable rights that should not be denied of any human? Is the child so inferior that his/her life does not have value? Why is a vulnerable human, a defenseless child, not equal to other humans? Why do so many humans disrespect the lives of the unborn? How can any human demand respect when he/she is unwilling to give some to another? Where is Human Dignity? Where is Equality? Why does there exist a law against the destruction of an eagle's egg but no law against the destruction of an unborn child? WHY IS ABORTION LEGAL?

Society has the right to terminate dangers that threaten its survival and security. Unwanted (and sometimes wanted children for selfish reasons) are a threat to law abiding people. I should have the right to protect my family from threats (those threats are sometimes in the form of a pregnancy). Adam Walsh lost his life to someone who should have never been born. Every year parents send their children to university (medical school, physics …who volunteer on their spare time) only to be brutally murdered by a men who should have never been born.
Would you agree that life begins when the soul resides in the body? Where is the soul? In the heart or the brain? I you believe that the soul resides in the brain then it is not murder to terminate a pregnancy early in the pregnancy since the brain is not fully formed. I could argue that every time I use a luffa sponge I murder 10000 of potential babies (clones yes but still possible life).
Is it better to terminate a potential threat before it is born? An embryo grows into an adult- and sometimes that adult is a serial killer, murderer, rapist, or pedophile. If these souls are meant to be born then they will be born … with society’s control, into a healthy family. We were given free will and with that will society should start monitoring and controlling who has children. We can’t drive drunk and without a license right? Why can a crack head, prostitute have children? Why can a woman repeatedly have children with a man who is a known pedophile simply because she is too weak to be alone so she provides him unlimited access to victims? Why should wanted children who were born to responsible parents be victims of adults who were not wanted or born to parents who shouldn’t be left in charge of an ant, be lose these valued members of society in an instant over $5 murder/robbery.
Why should a parent who has put in 1000 and 1000 and 1000 and 1000 of hours into raising their children, putting them first, investing enormous amount of money into their education, dental care, doctor bills, hours and hours of worrying lose this child because an adult whose parent (usually single parent, pregnant at 12) didn’t put a total of 1000 hours of positive time into raising their child and therefore, raised a weapon, a cancer, a plague. This person usually puts partying and boyfriends before their child. I know you will say there are examples of adults who are very productive who came from such backgrounds. If we follow that line of thinking then people should be able to drink and drive, since I personally know two alcoholics who drink and drive and have never gotten into an accident. There are anomalies in everything but you don’t stop regulation or common sense because of 1 or 2 percent.

"never should have been born". How do you decide if someone should never have been born before they are grown up? Adults and children are in ways different. As children they are under the supervision of their parents. Their actions are the parents and their own responsibility. What they do as adults are only their responsibility. Also, a child's reasoning is usually different from an adult's (unless there is a disability, of course). Yes, we must protect the people's rights to safety, and since drinking then driving are not safe for either of the persons affected by this then drinking then driving should be illegal.
Also, Your idea of monitoring who has children is somewhat similar to ADOLF HITLER'S AND OTHERS VIEWS IN GERMANY. I am not implying that you want to create a superior race or anything along those lines. I am simply saying that you believe that only certain people should be allowed to have children. Yes, some people are incompetent and would never make good parents, but that does not mean just get rid of the child. There are people who want children but cannot have them or just plain want to adopt a child instead of having one the traditional way. This isn't the best place for a child to be, but it is better to be there than stuck with incompetent parents or to be dead.
I don't believe the soul is in the brain or the heart. I believe that you are a soul, but you have a body. A soul is there but it does not have a place. For example, Catholics believe in Heaven and Hell, but they don't believe you can just take out a map and show someone where they are. They exist, but they do not have a specific place.

RIGHT ON, EVE G!!!! I am extremely PRO CHOICE and don't even get me started on the rights of a woman to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. You said it all! Lets just also add, that many young women have been BRAINWASHED the past 8 years, considering who our president has been and the evangelicals being in power behind this moron of a president, guilting young women into fearing abortion, such as the young lady who started this petition.I am so glad we have a new administration with a prochoice president, who will hopefully end this culture of FEAR that has pervaded America the last 8 years.I feel sorry for all these misguided young women who have fallen for this crap regarding abortion. To quote George Carlin: Not every ejaculation deserves a name!" Yes, harsh for some to hear, but he was a comedian, a masterful one at that, but that statement is so true, says it all. It's similar in theory to your comments about the "clones" you sponge off in the shower. I mean, how ridiculous are we going to get? Sperm should be protected now? How dare young women be told that abortion is wrong even in the case of RAPE AND INCEST!!?? Thankfully, Sarah Palin never made it to the White House. I came of age in the 60's and '70's and I am SO GLAD I did, that I was able to witness women's rights and feminism take it's rightful place, along with abortion being legalized in the early '70's. Young women who are against abortion: You are being brainwashed by religious kooks and by men who want to CONTROL YOUR BODIES, to keep you submissive and in their power, and by women who are miserable with their choice to have children and resent the freedom of childfree females!! Get real!! You might as well be wearing a burka and living in the Middle East, with no rights to drive, to blindly obey your husbands, to be stoned to death if you are caught disobeying or cheating on your husband..yes, these things do happen in certain countries. You in America are LUCKY to have the right to choose what to do with your body!!

Abortion is murder...period. It doesn't matter whether that pregnancy was caused by rape, incest or consentually. The child's life is still lost.

If there is no soul there yet then how is that murder? Does it reside in the ass? The brain right! If the brain is not formed then the soul can’t be there yet so it is not murder. You may disagree and think that it is possible that it resides in the same location where excrement is released, but my soul resides in my brain.

"Every action in this world bears a consequence." Having abortion is just a way of avoiding the consequences of sex. I know not all actions are voluntary but abortion is still not the way to go in the situation of rape or incest. I know that rape and incest are horrible crimes and very traumatic experiences, but THIS DOES NOT EXCUSE ABORTION. Every human has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, correct? you can't have the other two (and all the rest of the unalienable rights) WITHOUT LIFE. and who are we to decide when a human life ends?!
Going off on a Christian tangent (all you non Christians can ignore). Back in the beginning of creation with Adam and Eve, they ate of the Knowledge of Tree of Good and Evil. Their sin? They wanted to be LIKE GOD knowing good and evil. There are three types of knowledge. Intellectual, Experiential, and Creator's Knowledge. In intellectual knowledge, you learn by studying (books and whatnot). In experiential, you learn... well, from experience. Creator's Knowledge is what Adam and Eve wanted. God has creator's knowledge. He created everything, He decided what was what. God decides what role people play. God decides what is good and what is evil. An Example of Creator's Knowledge would be C.S. Lewis and Narnia. Let's just say that Mister Tumnus (that one weird character whose name I don't think I spelled right) wanted to take Aslan's role. Well he couldnt. C.S. Lewis didn't make Tumnus that way. Tumnus can't play that role. My point being, God made us and He decides what role we play, when we come in to the story, and when we exit. God has creator's knowledge. He makes all the decisions. Adam and Eve wanted Creator's knowledge. They wanted to decide what was good and evil like God. They wanted to be their own gods. Well... bad choice. That was a HUGE sin and got them kicked out of the garden. ANYWAY, back to the original idea.
By having an abortion you are deciding when someone dies. You're trying to play the role of creator. You're also saying that you are higher up on the Totum pole as in... the baby and you don't share equality. You're saying that the baby's life is not valuable. That what you want matters more. Pretty self-centered if you ask me.
There is one situation, however, where abortion could possibly be acceptable. That situation would be where one life must end. Something goes wrong and it's either the mother's life or the baby's. In that situation I could understand the need for an operation. Otherwise, there really isn't a need for abortion. Abortion is just a act based off of selfishness and the desire to play the role of God. Good luck getting out of the consequences for that sin.

God gave us free will to regulate and make society better. To allow everyone and anyone to have children is wrong. Males and females who are not fit for society should not be given the right to reproduce.
I will use the same argument again. Why not let drunk drivers .. drive …it will be Gods decision who lives and who dies when they get behind the wheel. Instead society said no we will not allow drunk drivers drive because the risk is too high that innocent people are harmed. I have absolutely no problem deciding that a person (male or female), that demonstrates no ‘empathy’ on psychological testing, can’t have children. Let us start with the prison population. Under aged girls …. drug addicts …. females who test dependency on or desperation for men …. The mentally ill … sociopaths (Casey Anthony)…. . We would have incredible reduction of crime and an incredible rise in social conciseness within a few decades. After two generations it is quite possible we would have utopia.

I am a Christian, so I believe abortion is wrong!!
God creates every life for a reason and purpose. Rape
is a very difficult situation, but both having the child or aborting the child can be very emotional and stressfull situation. We need to look to God for this answer and in doing so protect EVERY life no
matter how it was conceived. Remember, the heart of
a fetus starts beating after 18 days no matter how
it was conceived.

There are anencephalic babies who are born with a beating heart but the brain, most of it, is missing.
