All people should have the right to marry who they want. Whether they be Straight or Gay. People are People and they should all have the right to happiness and perks (such as insurance) that marriage or a civil union provide. OK! So I'm doing this project for my class on Gay Marriage and I've been reading all the comments on those who aren't for it. I find it so judgemental and ridiculous it's UNBELIEVABLE!! People say that being "GAY" is a a so called "SIN" when it's only their way of being HAPPY!! Imagine that a world where people are happy. But everyone has this mind set on a normal society that they forget about what really is "normal" but the true question is WHATS NORMAL?!?! In my opinion it is an opinion of one's mind. I completely agree with what Candice M. said, God's not REAL so stop living by the opinions of one person and start maiking your own!

As a parent and partner I just want to know that my kids have the same opportunities and advantages as their peers. We each have a child that is biologically ours but in every way they are both our kids. Fact is this, if something happens to either of us the other is screwed in the eyes of the court. How can you tell me that my 12 year old can't have two parents who love and care for her in all ways and legally have rights to make choices for her care.

Call it what you want but its all the same and everyone should have the same rights. Why should two people that truly love one another be denied the same man/woman couple. To all you non belivers....how would u feel if the person you love was in a hospital with his or her life hanging by a thread and you are denied because your aren't his spouse or immidiate family member? Think about that!

I disagree. I believe homosexuals should be allowed civil unions and I believe the law should change to allow civil unions to have the "perks" of marriage. Insurance, filing taxes jointly and adoption or surrogacy or having children in what ever way they choose to have them. I truly believe that marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman; its states such in the Bible and any other book of religion based on a belief in God.

Why should adam and eve marry, if they don't feel like they belong together? Would you marry someone you don't like just because 'god' tells you to do so? You might say, 'I'll just say no...' But in other countries you don't have the right, they even kill their own children if they refuse. If adam loves steve and anna loves eve, and they both love them in return there is no harm. There is only harm when outsiders who do NOT understand this love speak unwell of it. Then the fighting starts, bickering about how 'god created everything, god created ADAM and EVE not adam and steve!'... If he did create everything, then he also created Adam and Steve, as well as Anna and Eve. Because 'god' loves all his children, why would he make them just to dispise them? The government shouldn't be a part of the relationship between two PERSONS. Because that's just what they are, two humanbeings that LOVE eachother, if you don't like it then just look away. It's quite a vicious circle, religion shouldn't be messing with government, government shouldn't be messing with love and love doesn't mess with anything... It shows gratitude and appreciation. The person who said love/marriage should be ONLY between man and woman is afraid, afraid of same-sex couples. Afraid they might be a better couple, afraid they might be better parents, afraid they might be better persons then they are. Screw the bible, it's just a book. It's okay to believe in it, but abusing it just to control the lifes of others?! Use it to guide YOUR OWN LIFE, live and let live. Have a drink while you're at it, x Biseksual PERSON Ps. I have no problem with Adam and Steve or Anna and Eve. It is not for me to judge however it states in the Bible that marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman. There is a passage that states to turn away from sin it is better to cut off your right arm than to sin against God. God loves you no matter what; he gives us all free will so that you can decide to follow him or not. He does not want you to be forced to follow him; he hopes you will choose to follow him and his words but by no means does he want to force you. It may not be your "choice" to be homosexual but it is your choice to act on it. Just as it is against Gods law to commit adultery or murder, so is acting on the desire to commit homosexual acts. It is the choice of the adulterer and the murderer to act on his desire rather than ignore the desire and pray about it to take the desire away. It is the same for a homosexual; the choice is yours. I dont understand why civil union is so bad as long as you receive the same benefits as a married couple. Civil unions are fine; but marriage is between man an woman. I have nothing against homosexuals at all I just believe the way I do just as you believe the way you do.

Separation of Church and State. If biblical theology should influence politics again then your asking for a repeat of the Dark Ages. The scripture your quoting is to not intended to be used for the argument its being used for. The verse doesn't even translate that way from Greek to English. I totally acknowledge you have your point of view and up hold your right to have it but please make a point based on fact not on something being spoon fed from a pulpit. Knowledge is the key to freedom from all repression remember that.

Telling people they cannot marry the person they love is wrong. You cannot be the "big brother" of other's lives. If what they do does not directly affect you and hurts no one (and it doesn't) then you have no right to have any say in it. Choose love. Not hate.

I think that people should be able to marry whoever they want. The only reason people think that gay marriage is "wrong" is because someone decided it was. If someone had said that it was wrong for a woman to marry a man, then I would have had to fight to marry my husband. The government shouldn't tell people who they can and can not marry! Isn't this supposed to be a FREE country? Not a free-only-if-your-straight country! People should be able to marry whoever they love! The government should recognize gay marriage!

Religion SHOULD be in the government. and just so u know, the United States STARTED OUT AS A CHRISTIAN NATION. and one other little thing. If religion or God isn't in the government then why do the Presidents say 'so help me God' at the end of their innauguration? (dont think i spelled that rite)

Religion doesn't belong in the government. Don't bring religion into a governmental matter. We are not a Christian nation, for we would be a theocracy if we were. We are a democracy. The founding fathers were Deist and didn't base our Constitution on Christian or religious ideals (as rebelling against your superiors is frowned upon in the Christian religion). You have no right to judge, only your sky daddy has that right.

as a bisexual woman i believe that love has no gender and NO ONE has any right to judge. if it is not for you that gives you no right to choose for anybody else. especially the law should have no right to choose. my first serious relationship was with a woman and i loved her. nothing wrong about it. for gay people who want kids, there are millions of kids who have no one who dream of love and a family. love has no boundries. period.

Homosexuality is wrong. Its not only against religion but also against the laws of nature. If people and animals were meant to be gay then that means they could be able to produce offspring with same sex couples. you cant do that so its wrong in both senses.

Marriage is defined as a man and a women. not man and man or women and women.
