Intended Recipient:Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Description:CONGRATULATIONS HEATH! WISH YOU WERE HERE TO ENJOY THE ACCOLADES! THANKS EVERYONE! Dark Knight’s success was expected, and if you were lucky enough to see the movie you probably are still experiencing the after effects of the late Heath Ledger’s terrifying performance as the “Joker”. An Oscar nomination is inevitable for Ledger and I think it is safe (and sad) to say that he is the James Dean of this generation. Only one star has won an Oscar from beyond the grave (Peter Finch, Network in '76) so we shall see if the statue will go to Heath early next year. I have not read one bad review of Ledger… even The New Yorker gave him a rave (and that says a lot). With all due respect, this is one hellava way to go out.
Sign this petition if you feel that Heath Ledger's performance as "The Joker" deserves an Oscar.

I have never been the kind of person for start stuck but oh my god! He is my idol. Both acting and as a person.
I can just go on forever about him. His performance was no less than breathtaking.
If anyone has read about his personal life. I find it just amazing at the kind of man he was. How he cared so much for his daughter, his friends and his work. <3
it was heartbreaking when i heard the news about his death but it is even more heart breaking that he didn't even get to see his full, astonashing performance in the movie. By far my favorite movie and I think everyone can agree it was Heath was the BEST part of the movie. <3

After his nomination for brokeback mountain (and loss) he definetly deserves this one, plus he completely embodies the joker like no one has ever (or will ever) do.

Only the good die young. What a pity it had to be Heath!He was amazing in all his roles, but The Dark Knight was way on top of them all! I like Christian Bale a lot, but hey, who looked at him when there was the Joker on the screen?!? Heath would have had a brilliant career if he had lived.

I haven't seen the other nominees performances but Heath Ledger as the Joker is truly amazing..I think his personification of this character defines the real Joker.With Heath's wonderful touch of humor!..If he wins that'll be great! But if he doesn't, his name will still lives on through the walls of art, as one of the most talented young actor in our generation:)
The joker was in Dark Knight. I saw no evidence of Heath Ledger. That's an excellent actor! I'm sorry he left us, but even if he hadn't left, he still did a great job!
Heath Ledger has won every award that has happened so far. I think it is pretty safe to say he will bring home an Oscar so to speak.
Though I haven't seen the film I have seen the emotion when he wins for this role I have heard it was the funnest role he ever did so he had told his parents. I do hope he wins.
To those that say his performance is not worth an Oscar I think you should take a look at all the awards that have already been shown. There are plenty who think he is more then deserving of it.

the performance in the joker is by far oscar worthy. How many actors do you think could pull that off in such a way that heath did.
If you are so selfish and doesn't it was great, i would really like to see you try and act and do better. Best performance in a movie i have ever seen. I mean obviously many actors come close, but not like that.
