Description:
Please help me in my venture to hold AOL and it's posters accountable for choosing to allow racist and discrimminatory posts on their boards!
My 6 year old grandson has been the brunt of the posters on Dog the Bounty Hunters Message Board of racist posts calling him a halfbreed, spade, baboon, ****, picaninny among many other namesand AOL chose to ignore the many complaints they received and even terminated my account for defending my grandson! These posters saw my bi-racial grandson's picture in my profile and picked him to pieces with their vile and racist remarks!
I have a complaint filed with the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights against AOL for racism that was directed at my grandson and discrimmination under the Disability Act of 1990 for discrimminating against me due to my disability! Members saying I was milking the system, accused me of defrauding the system, claimes that I was a menace to Society cause I did not work and that they as taxpayers were paying for my lazy ass!! I draw Social Security which is money that I paid in while I worked! No one is paying my bills for me except myself!! AOL done nothing about the posts !
Under the disability act AOL can be liable for depriving me access to their public service because they terminated my account due to my defending my family against this kind of stuff! I also plan on holding the members accountable after I have dealt with AOL in a civil court! I have post after post that was copied to show this and most of it is still on the board if you know how to dig for it! But since all this has happened with Dog you should see how all the ones who posted racist remarks are downing DOG for what he said! I think if we hold Dog accountable, then AOL and it's posters should be accountable as well , anyone anywhere who is doing what America is shunning Dog for, should be held to the same standards as DOG!
Please sign my petition demanding AOL honor their Terms of Service policy and hold the posters accountable for their actions!!! Thank you!!
Aol chat rooms allow racism, pedafiles, child porn, etc. Would not surprise me if AOL was not giving money to terrorist groups.
Being a white woman with two bi-racial children and being with their black american father for 13 years, I have experienced racist comments from both races. I have had my children with me at some of those moments. I have taught my children to love themselves for who they are and that the opinion of others is just that an opinion. My children have never spoke against any race and are proud to have two heritages in them. Because we do live in the best country in the world we accept the right of freedom of speech from any person. As long as you teach your children to love and respect themselves and to lead and not follow your children will grow up to be tolerant of others opinions and not take them personal. Quick story, we were at Wal-Mart one day and a woman had made the comment "If I see any more of these cracker b's with our men and making these kids who don't know what they are I think I'll be sick". I just overlook these comments because of the freedom of speech right, but before I knew it my son walked over to her and stuck his hand out to her and said,"Hello mam, my name is Austin and I know who I am and where I live and when I get older I'm going to be the first mixed president." I had never been so proud of him and I knew then I was raising my children right and without prejudice. He was 8 at the time and by the way when he was 4 he said he was going to have 12 sons and work at Wal-Mart so he could buy some taddatoos (tatoos from the gumball machines). So in 4 years he grew more mature than most adults do with 60 years of living. And with Obama running this year my son is not hoping for him to win because then he wouldn't be the first mixed president. Racism can stop as long as we as parents teach our children better and to respect each person as just that a person not a color. our family motto "Kill him with kindness".
I cannot sign your petition....simply due to this little thing called FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
People are too touchy these days....they are only words. Didn't you ever hear "sticks and stones may break my bones BUT WORDS can never hurt me"? Unless of course you CHOOSE to let them.
Lighten up and just enjoy life. Every minute you spend on this stupid crusade takes away precious family time!!
Your teaching kids to be little cry babies. Teach them to be the bigger person and turn the other cheek!!
If someone called me a pedophile, you can bet your bottom dollar, Im gonna call them anything that comes to mind, possibly even rascist comments. I do not condone rascism, but you don't go around calling people pedophiles !!!
It sounds like you should move to a country where they dont have freedom of speech. The rascist remarks where wrong but after looking at what you wrote, I have to say that your own comments were just as bad. You were calling people pedophiles and that is just as bad as any rascist comments and you were doing that as well. If you can't take it you shouldnt dish it out. You can not sue anybody, you don't have a leg to stand on.
** they terminated my account due to my defending my family against this kind of stuff! **
THAT'S NOT TRUE Connie B. You were terminated because of your constant disregard to AOL's TOS. YOU also openly posted someones personal NAME, ADDRESS and TELEPHONE NUMBER REPEATEDLY, along with YOUR OWN RACIST REMARKS and CONTINUAL FOUL LAGUAGE. It seems that YOUR the one who be SUED or PUNISHED. I see that YOUR FALATIOUS story telling has FOLLOWED YOU HERE, ALSO!!!. ANYONE that PLEDGES to YOUR outragious fairytail should do their RESEARCH, FIRST!!!!.
I am sure that your efforts at censorship will be unsuccessful. Anybody who has taken a Law course in college will tell you that in the U.S. people have freedom of speech according to the Constitution and Bill of Rights. You will not be able to hold AOL or anybody else responsible and I do not believe you when you say you have taken legal action. No lawyer in their right mind would take your case. I dont know what those people said on that message board, but it seems like you are the one who has the issues with your grandsons race.
Whatever happened to freedom of speech ? The Constitution and Bill of Rights protect all forms of speech including offensive speech. It is un-American to stiffle any form of speech including what society views as "hate-speech". Anyone who supports this petition is either ignorant or un-American or both.
I'm sorry that happened to him and I know what you say is true. I'm glad that you complained because if there is something that needs to be cleaned up are message boards. Racism is rampant and it's cruel and it's mean and the people who engage in it are very very little neer do wells who have to take out their failures on someone else.
I invited a Black friend to a board which I won't mention and he left in disgust. His comments were much more piquant than yours. But I was ashamed that white people on the Board treated him that way.
You know what else, they were more or less polite until they found out he was black, the hate messages were unrelenting and they escalated and escalated and it was apparent to me that some people on the board had decided to drive him away. They succeeded.
But please complain and keep complaining, there is no excuse for that. When I was with AOL I noticed as well there was no control, that was two years ago, But I wondered if I had wandered into the KKK website, the racism was incredible, but to say those things to do a child.
Melanie C. Metthew, How did they know that your friend was black?
In protest, I'm going to sign get rid of Dog petition that's here, what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the Gander, I'm sorry that I already voted once and gave it a maybe.
From reading that board Connie, it seems that you created much of that havoc. Racism and bigotry are not acceptable in todays society, and from what I have seen there, it doesn't exist. Are you by any chance taking medication for other ailments, perhaps?. It sure looks like you know how to get under other peoples skin with your demeanor and foul tongue. I went back 250 days and I'm not sure how I would react to your vile attitude either. Good luck with your quest, but It sure looks like a big waste of your and others time, to me. Maybe a visit to a good psychologist make help you with this problem that lies within.
Chao
I don't see how he was discriminated against, Please enlighten us, And I did read that board and went back 300 days, seems to me like you were in the middle of a bunch of mess too! Looks like you were doing some name calling as well. Besides Talk is cheap. Did I see where you were calling the men on the board PEDOPHILES? Do you have proof of this? You do know you could be held accountable for that right? I say shame on you for crying wolf, when it looks like you were in fact a wolf in sheeps clothing too! For some reason, you sound like an opportunist~!
Hi Autumn
I never subjected my grandson to the message board , I just posted some family pics in my profile and he was in them! He has never been to this board! And everyone does have a RIGHT to voice their opinions as long as it does not infringe upon mine or my families rights! And I have a right to be able to go to this board and be free of racism and discrimmination bestowed upon myself and family! And just like the DOG, you or I can be held accountable.... whether right or wrong ... for execising our right to voice our opinion! Thank you for your response!
I do believe in freedom of speech....however spewing hate and using derogatory statements just to get a reaction should not be tolerated. All people should be treated equally. This is not the 1950's. Where I live they are many mixed couples with bi-racial children and as far as I can tell they are treated with the same respect as everyone else. My personal experience with something like this is that I had people who did not come to my wedding just because I married out of my religion. This all has to stop we are all people. You don’t have to agree with our choices just accept that we all have the right to make them.
