Congratuations to Coach Belichick and the Patriot organization for a perfect season, 16-0.

New England became the first NFL team since the 1972 Dolphins to win every game on the schedule.  The Dolphins schedule was only 14 games but they won the Superbowl that year.

Poor Pats got beat by a MANNING

19-0? HA, no more like 18-1! GO RAIDERS!!!

Everyone knows that the Dallas Cowboys are the greatest team ever. We may have a few troubled players in the past, but we don't have to cheat!

no the steelers

steelers are the bast team ever, it was even rated on ESPN. PATS ARE A GOOD TEAM BUT THERE NOT THE STEELERS.

Fourteen of the '85 Bears' 19 opponents that season were held to 10 or fewer points. Four of them were shut out, including the Giants (21-0) in an NFC divisional game and the Rams (24-0) in the NFC title game. New England also had no chance against the Bears, falling 46-10 in Super Bowl XX. And the Bears too finshed 18-1 but won the game that counts!

I've been a fan since I was 3 years old, so win or lose I love the Patriots!

I'm french and I like NFL. I think that PATRIOTS are the best NFL team ever!!!

YOUR FRENCH YOU DON'T EVEN WATCH THE NFL SO SHUT UP

This has been a dismal tear as far as the NFL teams altogether. In other words, this season has been one of the least productive as far as offenses. The Patriots are good. Okay, very good. They played the top teams of the league at some point and won the games in some way. The only high profile team they didn't get to meet was the Packers, because Favre and the gang laid another lousy egg in the game against New York. uuggh Otherwise, I think that would have been another interesting showdown, provided the'07 Packers would play to their potetial.
Back to thsee Patriots and their place in history....
Sure, they get to have this perfect little season, maybe even the whole shebang with winning the Super Bowl.
On an aside, I personally still believe the season game against the Eagles was a ref rip-off. Many other broadcasters know it but don't talk about it, because you can't do anythig about it anymore. Either way, that would only tarnish their 'undefeated' season is all.

Best team ever?? No way.
Place them against Jimmy Johnson's Cowboys, the late 80's 49ers, or the '85 Bears, and you will find some imperfections with these Patriots, let alone, a possible loss against either of those three.
BOTTOM LINE.....An undefeated season (even in this "modern NFL era") does NOT GAURANTEE coronation as the Greatest Ever. Besides, I think in the next few years, this will happen AGAIN.

They're CHEATERS!!

Watch what happends when they lose in the super bowl...all you people hop on the wagon...just wait

WOW.....I am writing this after what you predicted would happen. Talk about one of the greatest upsets in football ever! i was shocked when the no-name, terrible Giants survived the way better Packers; but to win the Super Bowl....I couldn't watch it...and I am not a Patriots fan! I hated the Patriots because of what they did to my RAMS several years ago in the Super Bowl when they won by a lousy field goal; but I certainly did not want to see the crappy season Giants beat a 19-0 season. Oh well, that's football!

And who might they lose to John? What the Pats have demonstrated during the regular season and in their win over Jacksonville is that they can adapt to any style of game and still be a dominant team. Jacksonville played them as best as they could. They had a great game plan. The Jags wanted to limit the possessions Brady and the offense had during the game. The Pats only had seven possessions in that game but they scored on 5 of them. The Jags did not want the dynamic passing game to beat them. The Pats ran the ball on the edge and utilized screens and short passes (Brady 26-28 with 3TDs). When a very talented team like Jacksonville can execute a gameplan as well as they did and still get dominated, then the team dominating has to be a GREAT team. They can beat you everyway imaginable on offense. The defense isn't as good as it used to be but they are still very effective and it is a defense full to the brim with vetern experience. Unfortunately, i do think they have to win the SB in order to stake claim to be the BEST TEAM EVER, but what they have done to this point is unprecedented (they have matched the 17-0 of the 72 dolphins already with 2 more potential games to play). But I am ready to call this team the BEST TEAM EVER because they are exactly that - the best TEAM. Everyone on the Patriots knows their role and the trust each other to perform that role. Did you see Randy Moss throwing blocks on those screen passes against Jacksonville? Have you heard anyone take credit for a win during a postgame press conference? This is a TEAM in every since of the word and that is why they will go on to the SB, win it, and be considered the BEST TEAM EVER.

WHEN MY NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS DO WIN THE SUPER BOWL ON FEBRUARY 3RD, THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THEY ARE THE BEST TEAM EVER TO STEP FOOT ON AN NFL FIELD, AND A COUPLE YEARS LATER DOWN THE ROAD, MR. TOM BRADY WILL TAKE HIS CROWN AS THE GRETAEST NFL QUARTERBACK TO EVER PLAY THE GAME!!! AND MR. BILL BELICHICK WILL BE CONSIDERED THE SMARTEST AND BEST NFL COACH TO EVER WALK AN NFL SIDELINE!!!

I'll wait to see how they do in the playoffs.  I think they need to win the Superbowl to be considered the best.

NO THEY ARE NOT THE BEST TEAM EVER...
