I'm so tired of hearing this ban smoking ban smoking.It kills well yes i agree smoking is harmful but taking away another person rights isn't right either.Most states have banned smoking in public places. What someone does in their own home is there business. Who gives people the right to make this choice for them.Why not ban alcohol? Alcohol can destroy families.Some idiot thinks they can get behind a wheel right after closing time or whenever hits someone else they die usual the drunk lives.Plus the money we tax payers pay to keep them feed in jail that is if they go.Plus also what we pay in taxes because some states lets a person who gets enough prove to claim alcoholism they get ssi check.Either way you look at it. It isn't your choice nor myself's it should be left up to that person rather they want to smoke or not you can always move somewhere else or ask them to move but take their rights away then that is wrong.

I've often wondered if smoking/second hand smoke/third hand smoke is such a public health hazard, why is there no official campaign to ban the sale of this product? Is it the tax dollars it generates? Is it the campaign contributions Big Tobacco makes to our leaders in Washington? Is it that the hazard is overblown, and the real issue is some people just don't like the smell, and want to impose their will on everyone else?

I don't smoke, and I don't particularly care for the smell, either. I live in California, and have found that there are plenty of laws that keep me from having to smell it very often, and I just don't go places where people are smoking if I don't want to.

But I wonder, if smoking is banned, what is next? Isn't being overweight one of the worst health hazards in the world today? Should we next ban fattening foods so we don't have to pay the health care costs related to diabetes, heart disease, and other obesity related disease? Not to mention all the skinny Hollywood types who must be offended by it...

if you want you can make your own thing banning alchohol but i think it will just bring back the old days of running.

I agree that they are bad for me and you,but i am aware of others around me and i do not smoke in public or in my house, i have kids. i do smoke outside or in my garage. drinking is also bad for you and me but we are not banning it. it kills just as well, drunk drivers, livers rotting away etc......... but to say you hate someone for there habits alittle harsh right?

on a comical side... all the whining non-smokers should take up smoking since it seems to be healthier than not smoking. I keep hearing about all these people who have never smoked getting cancer. of course it all gets blamed on smokers.

perhaps, if we could get them treated like the narcotics that they are... I have been wanting to quit for years, but when I try I suffer panic attacks. it is really disheartening. i think that health insurance should cover rehab programs for quitting smoking.

I hate people that smoke that s**t is nasty!!
