Be A Designated Driver Not A Drunk One!

Issue:

Although consumption of alcoholic beverages is illegal for those under 21 years of age, over 10 million drinkers in the U.S. are underage. Young people who drink are more likely to be victims of violent crime, have serious problems in school, be involved in drinking-related traffic accidents and develop alcohol dependence.

Belief:

Choosing not to drink before the age of 21 is a very responsible decision to make and can reduce your chances of having alcohol-related problems down the road. But there will always be underage drinking. It cannot be stopped, but through education, we can prevent tragedies that occur with alcohol such as drinking and driving and violent crimes. It’s stupid to drink before the age of 21 but it’s even worse to put others in danger by stepping into a vehicle after consuming alcoholic beverages.
