Majority wins (even tho you wont have to change your opinion)

Belief:

The BMW is far superior when it comes to the Drivers point of view.

It has better performance, better handling and quality.

Engine of the year? Heard of it?  ;)

BMW is best. Nice handling but Mercedes just looks good. Performance not good. Bmw 10 times better than Mercedes if u drive fast.

I think both cars are very nice I would be proud to own either. Although I think Merc has much more prestige because usually only the wealthy have them. Every car they make costs more than a comparable BMW so I tend to think they are for older wealthier individuals. However I think the BMWs probably handle better but do not turn as many heads as the Mercs. I bought a Merc because everytime one would pass me I was like...WOW. Kind of like when I used to see the old 3 series.

Both are great cars, it depends on what you needed for, and how much money are you willing to spend. BUT, you should ask yourself, if BMW is that good (compare to Benz) according to many people, why aren't they any commercial & military vehicles such as buses, trucks, tractors and amphibians that carry BMW brand? hmmmm....in sports, especially Formula 1 racing, Grand Prix winner by engines from 1950 to 2009: BENZ=69, BMW=20

BMW is far better than mercedes. My dad has a Mercedes c-class than my best friend has a bmw m3 I would go with m3

Yes, Mercedes are nice too look at but BMW's are a far better vehicle. Mercedes break down all too often (according to my local mechanic and a Lexus salesman who used to sell Benz's and got tired of buyers coming back and complaining that their new Benz has been giving them trouble so he quit Benz sales and went into Lexus sales) and why would anyone pay THAT MUCH for a car that breaks down and is hellaexpensive to repair? Beemer's are where it's at and I won't drive anything else.

i say bmw because bmw was on the cover of need for speed most wanted.And most wanted has more sells than midnight club so i trust them

They're both great cars and I'm proud when I drive either one, I had 4 MBs in a row, traded the last one in for a BMW 3 series, and wonder what took me so long to change over. My rathers are tha BMWs even though MBs are nice too.

Let me explain smth about this pledge - My comment is not too objective but in my country (Latvia) people who drive BMW's are know to be total spoofs, from the age of 18 - 25, and usually with no hair, no brains and equally as much driving experiance and usually get themselves killed because of the BMW. But people with MB are not always rich, but with a different view on life and succesful.

 Is there a better feeling that sitting in your WK-124 when some idiot with an E-36 drives up and wants to race you from the light, but it turns out that your visually standard MB has a 2.6 engine with minor performance tweaks - imagine the shock. 

 

Of course lets not even get into the MB SLR!!! BMW - engine of the year???? MY A^s!!!

If you want comfort, smooth ride and relaxation, then you buy a Merc....

 If you haven't retired yet, then you get something with a bit of sport feel... BMW the ultimate driving machine

BMW RULES 4 EVER!!! I could write a book about bmw's and merc's rivalry, cause i've follow this same topic from the begining of time really lol! If you want a car just for show, buy a Mercedes by all means, their good cars. However, for the true passionate fanatics of driving, BMW is the "ultimate driving machine" and that's literally their motto.

Mercedes are the better car manufacturer over all.If you want superior handling,comfort,prestige,safety & high performance....Mercs have got it all.I think people are going off BMWs.They are great cars but it's their image that's suffering as they've just become too normal & everyones got one.You feel alot more special in a mercedes and they age better.

i prefer bmw cause it`s got a better handling specially in slolams. in comparison to MB , it `s worth having it for the price you have to pay. it`s more elegant, good-looking,and of course more user-friendly TO ME.

I owned both make, but I like my Bimmer more than my Merc.  BMW is a driver's car and the merc. is more like for cruising.

I have driven a SL 55 AMG, S500 (which are supposed to be top of the line in MB) but for what you have paid, is not worth it.  I own a 330i and it is much better than those listed above (performance wise).

I agree, the Benz SL's are over-rated. You should take a CL55 or CL63 AMG for a spin. I think you'd have a different opinion.

Watch out for the BMW drivers.They drive like they have a need for people to see them and be the center of attention. See how fast and agile my car is ???? Mercedes drivers do not feel that need.

Mercedez just makes plain out better looking car.....sorry Bmer!

 No matter what the SLR is branded Mercedes so it is even if Mercedes personnally didn't put alot of input on it they still put the cash right? Today world almost no one creates new they are made by someone else like the Oldsmobile Aurora was originally meant to be a Caddy.

Lets not get into sub cultured cars that support mclaren and not just mercedes. You are basing your vote on something a real car enthusiast wouldn't ignore, and thats drivability. If you want to go by performance of each line of vehicle, don't forget engine sizes, which usually puts BMW as the inferior make, but still how big of a engine makes how much power. If Ford can put 300-400HP out of a V8 then whats Mercedes goals? Maye I dont see the big deal or any brilliance in Mercedes engineering since they even had to merge with another company (Daimler Chrysler) to gain marketing support. BMW makes the M unlike the infamous SLR (which I love), but we can go on forever about the technicals. Like my dealer told me, "you only buy a mercedes when you are old with only 5 years to live and too much money!" Any car will last how you take care of it..... even a Ford.

I've only owned Mercedes and have been very happy.  My mechanic call the other BMTroubleU so I've stayed away.

Amen. I have a Clk55 amg and it can leave an M3 in the dust as if it hasn't started. Mercedes is a beautiful and sophisticated car, for the affluent and successful. Mercedes-Benz makes a stunning appearance. BMW's are a dime a dozen, and nothing more than a drivers car.
