Yes, it is a shame that anyone loses their life. Here we have a case where a pretty white girl disappears. There has been no recovery of a body, regardless of our belief that she has passed, it is not yet a fact. People want to point to three suspects that were arrested after the Holloway family started interfering with the investigation. An arrest does not prove guilt, just suspicion. Yes, I think they did it, but it looks like there wasn't enough evidence to do anything with. So we are supposed to cause a small country to it's knees because they were unable to find a body, nor get a suspect with enough evidence to conduct a trial, let alone a conviction? Wow... Too bad I am not wealthy, I would plan an extended dive trip in Aruba right away. I bet there are some really good deals to be had. So if this were to have happened in... Dallas, you should boycott Texas? I don't think so.

Tax revenues down, overnight visitors down, number of residing visitors down, cruise ship passengers down, cruise ship visits down and the average inflation over twelve months increased with 0.4 percent points to 6.8 percent, compared to the same month in 2008 The Central Bank of Aruba (CBA) concludes that the Aruban economy is declining further. The revenues of the ‘bbo’-tax in March dropped with 8.7 percent compared to the same period last year. The revenues are a reflection of the profit mainly generated in the month before. The number of overnight stays on the island during the months of February and March decreased, as well as the number of tourists residing on the island, as previously known. The number of residing tourists during the months of February and March decreased with respectively 7.7 and 13.3 percent compared to the same months in 2008. The number of overnight stays decreased with respectively 6.2 and 10.7 percent.

I was shocked as this story developed. Aruba was all pissed off because it affected their tourism, they didn't give a crap about this girl.
I will NEVER go to Aruba, and no one in my family will eithor. We are all so close, and if one of us got murdered there..... we now know this country wouldn't care. All they care about is how to bury it so they can keep tourist coming!

After years of vacationing in Aruba, my family is boycotting. As far a derogatory comments by whoever, go ahead, don't come to the US. The US doesn't depend on tourist from Aruba. To the pigs degradating Natalee, it appears likely van sloot & company routinely drugged and raped tourists. So she is being villianized for being attractive and therefore targeted by these sick predators? Just like OJ Simpson, van sloot is guilty, just not convicted...yet..just like OJ

look at her. a young teenager, very beautiful, in Aruba. Add it all together, im sure she was there to "get away from it all". If i were her age and in aruba without parental authority, id be blasted the entire time i was there.

Aruba: (Kalpoes) Who is Trying to Make Money off a missing and Presumed Dead Natalee Holloway?
In discussing the death of Jamie Skeeters, Aruba Bondia makes reference of the $10 million law suit that the Kalpoe brothers brought against The Dr. Phil Show and Jaime Skeeters. Which brings us to the obvious question, who is trying to make money off a missing and most likely deceased Natalee Holloway? Who really thinks that any possible damage to them could be worth $10 million? The question arises, why didn’t they sue the Aruban government as Paulus Van der Sloot did for false imprisonment if they are innocent or felt damaged in any way by the circumstances of being accused of Natalee’s disappearance?
Does anyone honestly think that any alleged damage to the Kalpoe’s, who are still prime
suspects in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, could ever be $10 million? I think they have watched one too many Dr Evil/Austin Powers movies. Honestly, nothing they would have ever done in their lives would have amounted to them being worth much of anything. However, in the day of the almighty law suit these boys went for the lottery and it will most likely cost them dearly.
The law suit was mentioned in circles behind the scenes for months. Many, present company included, had hoped that Phil Mc Graw et al would not settle to the ridiculous demands set forth by the Kalpoe’s. As it turned out, they did not and the Kalpoe’s went forth with their law suit for $10 million. In the process they opened themselves up to United States jurisdiction. That in turn led to their being sued by Beth Twitty and Dave Holloway. What do you think is the reason why Joran Van der Sloot never pressed his luck with law suits in the US? Jurisdiction that will now hold, thanks to the Kalpoe’s greed for taking the bait. Their ultimate greed will lead to their own prosecution.

UPDATE I: Confirmation of woman’s story in Aruba

We have talked to sources in Aruba and Jossy Mansur of Diario and have confirmed that a woman has reported a rape to police. The rape is reported to have occurred on Eagle Beach.

I was able to confirm the news. It happened on the Eagle Beach, in the area of the low-rise hotels. The victim did go to the hospital accompanied by the police. We don’t know yet if she was attacked by one or more persons. Those are the only details available for now but we will have the rest of the story sometime tomorrow.

You guys think that only in Aruba people gone missing. What about in your country every every time people are missing and there are so many on solved misteries so what bother with that small island bother with your live and let the people there in Aruba live there life.The people on the island doesn't have to suffer for 1 thing. Just remember God is watching everytime you do something or write something about other people it comes back for you or country!!!!!

As the 3 year mark of the loss of Natalee Holloway draws near, we come to you, the kind people of Aruba , to help heal our pain.

We thank those of you who have grieved and prayed for justice with us, knowing our loss will never fade. We still cry out for our lost daughter, sister, grandchild, niece and friend. We need resolve and peace in her loss, and come to you to find this.

We know that Aruba also has suffered because of this tragedy. Together, with the common goal of bringing Natalee home, we can end the suffering and pain so many have had to bear. Injustice by a few, no matter where in this world it exists, threatens all of us.

We don’t profess that America or any other country is perfect. Neither are we blaming the honorable citizens of Aruba for the tragedy that befell this young woman. What we do believe in, is a government and its people, that consider justice for wrongdoing an essential requirement of civilization.

We also believe there is a hero among you. A hero who can bring a child home to her loved ones. It takes only one brave voice, one brave heart, to make this happen.

Someone on Aruba surely knows what happened to Natalee. That “someone” can restore Aruba to the jewel of an island it once was. It’s up to you, as a citizen of Aruba , to have your voice heard. Whether it was fear, corruption, or incompetence that hampered the investigation in this case, it tainted your island’s reputation.

Let someone rise above the petty bickering that has divided Aruba and hurt her citizens. Let us join hearts and hands to bring Natalee home, and restore justice and integrity to your people.

Aruban Minister Booshi Wever Suing Diario, Freedom of the Press, Not in Aruba

In Aruba, words are more offensive than individuals actions …

It appears that once again an Aruban political official is suing Jossy Mansur and Diario for of defamation. Minister Candelario (Booshi) Wever is suing Diario claiming that his reputation was tarnished by statements made in Diario. So much for freedom of the press or free speech.

The minister says that ‘desgraciado’ is one of the worst insults in Papiamento. That word is translated as ‘unhappy’ in the Diccionario Avanza of Jossy M. Mansur (also director of Diario), but in the normal linguistic usage, the meaning is much stronger and very offensive. The article also insinuates that the minister is the owner of a brothel in Venezuela and that Wever’s days are numbered and that he will feel the Colombian Community breathing down his neck. That is actually the reason why the minister instituted the lawsuit to demand a rectification from Diario.

Is it any wonder why Aruban officials could not cope with the American press during the Natalee Holloway disappearance and investigation? These people are more worried about what is said about them than the actual facts that transpire during a story. Its not always the politicians, but the people themselves. Was there anything more heinous than Beth Holloway, the mother of missing Natalee Holloway having to apolgize to the Kalpoe’s for comments made when all signs pointed to the fact that they were some how involved at took part with her daughters disappearance.
