The Secret Life of the American Teenager promotes teenage pregnancy. It shows young people that if you get pregnant, everything is easy. All you have to do is date a rich guy (who really doesn't have any money because it's his dad's) who only got with you so that he could have sex with you. A job at a church (complete with insurance and child care) will magically be offered to you. And of course alll of yor friends (otherwise known as the people who spread it around the school that you were pregnant) will babysit for you on the weekends. If you have ever been in the "Secret Life" forum on abcfamily.com, you will realize how many children out there think that this could actually happen! I actually read one post where a sixteen-year-old girl wanted to get pregnant! She was saying how "disappointed" she was that she wasn't pregnant because she had been trying! She said that her boyfirend was happy when she told him, but that if she did get pregnant he promised he would stay around! I just wanted to scream "GET REAL!". I do not allow my children to watch this show. It is ridiculous! It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many teenagers out there who thought that it was real! Please help stop this show!

This show blows.Tons of overacting throughout and the dialogue is complete lala land. It's not reflective of real life at all. And do i need else to say the script is poorly written and Anti-God.

This show DOES promote teenage pregnancy. "When this happens in real life your friends don't disown you, and they rally behind you and offer as much support as possible?" ok, so all of a sudden you have to get pregnant for your friends to rally behind you? Let's think back to when teenage pregnancy was shunned? It wasn't that long ago. This horrendous show glamorizes teenage pregnancy, and has turned it into somewhat of a new fad. This show should not even exist.

Obviously you don't watch the show. It does not show it as all is easy. It shows how hard it is and the struggles you have to deal with being a teenage parent. When this happens in real life your friends don't disown you (and if they do they are not your friends), they rally behind you and offer as much support as possible.

well u cant not get hateful comments from pple who like this show including me!!!!!!! u r looking at this show from a totally different point of view. It does NOT promote teenage pregnancy. at the end of the show it talks about talking to ur parents. u kno at the closed captioning its trying to show how hard pregnancy can be. its not the shows fault that ppl r taking it the wrong way (like you). Its the way they see the world
