Neither Capitalism nor Socialism are technically forms of government. They are economic systems. America has been slowly socialising for a long time. Research the New Deal. Our corrupt government constantly bails out the top Fortune 500 companies. No one noticed until recently with the latest bailout scam. The government bails out these companies with money it doesn't have like a credit card and forces you to work off the debt. This has been happening more and more since 1913 and the beginning of the corrupt Federal Reserve System. Socialism occurs when monopolies become so powerful that that they can no longer "afford" to pay workers reasonably so they take over the government and enslave the people of that particular nation. Sound familiar?... they said it can't happen here. Nazi Germany was financed by the Rockefellers, GM, IBM, Ford, etc. How else did the impoverished Germany become the formidable war machine? That money came from New York investors who cared nothing for Americans. If you finance both sides of the war watch the $$$ roll in. Research Trading With The Enemy Act. The German car company Opel, built Nazi tanks with American Steel. The USSR was also financed by the Rockefellers and they made a killing. Wars and conflict mean $$$! So I will have to vote Capitalism even though America is Socialist.

Well Capitalism has worked in America for a long time. Our economy would snap out of it with Capitalism but not with Socialism.

Capitalism isn't perfect, but IMHO it's a bit fairer than socialism in practice. Socialism has nice ideals, but has proven that it can't reach them. I personally favor a simplified system of Government where you can pick what services you want to apply to. On your tax form you have a bunch of check marks for stuff like welfare (2%) and social security (3%) plus a core set of services like police/fire (5%). You add them up and get your income tax rate. It will never happen because the IRS would lose tons of jobs. It's just too simple.
