Description:

 

 We the undersigned agree to changing  the 2008/2009 Wayne County School Calendar by including Good Friday and Memorial Day.  Research has shown that Johnston, Greene and Lenoir County Schools have these days off in addition to the same number of other holidays, teacher workdays and annual leave days, cumulatively.  With all school systems being under the same state requirement, we believe that Wayne County Schools cannot deny this request.

This is ridiculous. Why would they take these days away that we have had off for years?!

These two days off have been around for so long. Do not let Good Friday become just another day. In trying not to offend some, you still offend others. Leave it alone. Memorial day is also a day which people use for fellowship.
