Well as all Colbert Report fans know Stephen Colbert’s run for the presidency in South Carolina was dashed by both parties lack of foresight as to what Stephen Colbert can do for this nation. All hope is not lost though. Mike Huckabee, in his second appearance on the Report, asked Stephen Colbert to be his running mate. Here is a short transcript from an article on CNN.com.

“Just in case, though, Colbert then gave Huckabee a chance to take back his running mate promise publicly.

"Stephen, please, be my running mate," Huckabee said.

"Yes, a thousand times yes," was Colbert's answer.”

Now the rational minded person would assume that Huckabee was joking and will not actually name Colbert as his running mate if he ends up being the Republican candidate in the fall. I say FORGET THAT!!!! I believe that Stephen Colbert should be the next Vice President of the United States. Our foreign policy problems would be solved in one meeting with each world leader where they would all get “nailed” by Stephen’s quick wit. Then with Jon Stewart named as secretary of state the world would instantly be a better place for everyone. It is only through laughter that we can save this place.             Well it looks like Huckabee is out but I think this petition should go on.  The remaining candidates should see that Stephen Colbert is the only choice for Vice President.  John McCain, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Barack Obama all need to be made aware of this fact.  The word is President, the beginning is Vice President.  Lets make this dream a reality.  Sign This Petition.
