Why not stopping stupid war in Iraq and use the money for U.S. Health care ? Submitted by megan o. on Mon, 05/05/2008 - 02:07
I just finished watching "sicko" produced by Mr. Moore and i only have one question to start with if i may... Is what i seen on that documentary really true? I could not beleive it!! As a Canadian, i could not even imagine someone getting turned away from an emergency room because of your health insurance, whether you have one or not. What is the matter with you americans!!! Why are you putting up with this??? For more than half the movie I shed tears. For the people who went to hospital but were turned away because they weren't covered by health insurance, or dropped off in the middle of a city still in hospital gowns and left to fend for themselves. Oh my God it was just so upsetting to watch. You people have the power to change this. You really do. Don't be afraid to stand up to your government and demand that health insurance be abolished. America is one of the wealthiest countries in the world and there's absolutely no reason why anyone with an income of under 50,000 is paying for your health services. It just doesn't make sense. If any company that made $100,000 a year gave 2 or 3% of their gross earnings to a health fund for the under-priviledged to cover the costs of health care, there wouldn't be such a mess of your health system. And just think, these "companies" could use that as a tax write-off on their revenue tax at the end of the year. So wouldn't that benefit everyone??? You help the people that can't afford health insurance, and they help themselves on their taxes. It makes sense to me and it does work. And the same would apply for medical prescriptions. The same concept. As i said, you are the people with the power to change this. Everyone's vote counts. You can "remove" these "glutons" in office at every election, just as they were voted in, can be voted "out". You americans have the power to do that. Submitted by Bob P. on Thu, 04/24/2008 - 12:11
The main reason for high cost of health care is the drug companies and their influence on our medical system. They have been less than truthful about the safety and effectiveness of their drugs and convinced everyone they need drugs, adding huige costs to health care. Loading People... |
