Description:

The long-running battle over how evolution should be taught in Texas schools continues.  Why do we care?  Because Texas is one of the nation’s biggest buyers of textbooks, and publishers are reluctant to produce different versions of the same material.

Many biologists and teachers fear that the result of this battle could force textbook publishers to include what skeptics see as weaknesses in Darwin’s Theory to sow doubt about science and support the Biblical version of creation.

When I was in school, both sides were presented to us.  I thought that was the way to go.

What do you think should be taught in schools?

I think they should teach both and let the child choose for themselves rather than being indoctrinated into religion.

Evolution and Darwin's Theories are the same, aren't they? Why did we have 3 different things to vote on? Anyway, Evolution has been proven and is Science. Creationism is religious nonsense based on the bible, a fairytale written by Man thousands of years ago. Let's get real people: Science, not religious brainwashing.

ummm you gave us three choices, two of which are the same. which one did you intend to be creation?

Evolution and Creation are both Theories because neither can really be proved as fact. I believe in Creation and both should be taught in school fairly.

Creationism has no proof to back it up, except distortions of modern science and a book written over 2,000 years ago by people who would stick sharp pieces of metal into you for saying the earth is round. It's not science, it's religion. It's not a theory, it's a crock.

If Dub'ya Bush is an example of Tx edu, I would think teaching the kids to read the many books they buy.
Many Tx folks proves the Lack of Evolution.

Hah..good one.

As a Texan, I'm afraid I would have to agree with you. People down here in the South are complete idiots 90 percent of the time.

I applaud you, Matthew, for admitting that!

i love Dulceee

no question we should educate the children to both points of view. Why should be be bias?

Because Creationism isn't science. And only educational information should be taught in a system meant to educate.
