look at the facts. True blood might be set in a differnt place but it has all the aspects of Twilight. Seriously how could imprinting and shape shifters be in both vampire books. COME ON WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a little research you will know that True Blood is based off the Sookie Stackhouse novels which the first one came out five years before Twilight. They are similar yes, but I think they are both unique. But if anyone did the copying, it wasn't Harris and her Sookie novels, they were out before Twilight. I love them both though, so I hope that Stephanie Meyer didn't copy Charlaine Harris.

I read both series before seeing them,I love them both.All supernatural themed stories will have similar elements but the stories are totally different.Read Laurell K. Hamilton, Tanya Huff, Sherrilyn Kenyon,Patricia Briggs,kim harrison...all similar but great,different stories.

Anyone with any commen sense can see the simularities between the two. But in the end i love twilight and i've just started watching trueblood n that seems pretty awesome too, so who gives a hoot!? There are a few reasons why I hate Twilight.

One is the fact that Twilight is for tweens. The little girls who have a crush on Robert whatshisface and want to do bad things to him [if they even know what that means!]. True Blood on the other hand is for adults. Since when were vampires kid friendly anyways? It's about sexuality,sensuality,lust,romance and about someone who has been "cursed" to be dead-alive for all eternity and never be able to find true love or true happiness because of their fate..

True Blood - Sookie Stackhouse can hear the thoughts of everyone in her town accept for vampire Bill Compton.

Twilight - Edward is a vampire can hear everyones thoughts accept for human Belle's.

True Blood is a great show and twilight is good books havent seen the movie yet but there is a big difference in the story lines. One is young love and the other is complicated love. And when it comes to vampire stories of course they are similiar they have to stick with the basics of what a vampire is about. True Blood is more so for adults who understand life and the consequences of it. Twilight is a good story but the movie especially was made for young girls who want a glimpse at love and all its loveliness.

True Blood is one of the best acted new series on tv!! Amazing! I've watched lots of HBO and SHO series, but this show is one of the best. Most of the cast is rather unknown, at least in the States, which makes it even more believable. The show is creepy, campy, humorous and serious, all at once. If you haven't seen it, it is a MUST! Catch Season One, which just ended. It is in production and will be back around June. Too long to wait! I have not read Twilight although someone just lent me the book so I will start it, but I'm sure it won't compare with True Blood. I have not read the Sookie Stackhouse novels yet either and I don't want to ruin the show for myself, so I won't read them yet, but yes, True Blood is based on those books, which came out well before Twilight. True Blood is often a metaphor about the prejudices and acceptance that happen in REAL society. In this case, vampires are "coming out" (of the coffin!) into regular society, intermingling with humans, sometimes to detriment, and want to be accepted by society, in this case, a small Louisiana town. It is actually filmed in Louisiana, which makes it even more realistic. Wonderful show. I hope those of you in other countries will be getting it on tv soon. For those of you who have seen Season One, please don't give away who the killer is, or it will ruin it for the newcomers.

True Blood and Twilight are so different to me,they may have some things in common,but neither can compare to the other!

There has to be some similarity because Vampires are central to both story lines. That much is to be expected. I love the Twilight books, True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse books. Some overlap is a good thing because they all center around similar themes! Check out the series "Blood Ties." It is also similar, but really entertaining. Remember that all of these stories have Vampires as central characters, therefore, some overlap is only neccesity!!!
