Illinois General Assembly

Description:

Federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald accused Gov. Blagojevich on Tuesday of trying to sell the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama "like a sports agent," auctioning it to the highest bidder.  Blagojevich was arrested and charged with blatant political corruption.  Despite his arrest, under state law, the governor still continues to have the sole discretion to name President-elect Obama's replacement.

We, the undersigned, call on the Illinois General Assembly to strip Blagojevich of his appointment power.

Rod Blagojevich

the funny thing about it is that he was supposed to bring Illinois out of its terrible state after the last governor was removed for political corruption.he "promised" that it would never happen again

Founder/General of what?WPG?

Dont be trying to sell seats. give it to someone who can do good with it.

I agree, it is suspicious, but I think he just got greedy. Besides, he really got angry that no one from Obama's team was responding to his offers. He not only needs to be stripped of his power, he needs to step down, IMMEDIATELY. Unless the Democrats want this to drag on, kick him out and be done with this cancer.

It sure does seem like suspicious timing of this whole thing, coming out right before the inaugaration. It puts a damper on an otherwise wonderful, historic election. They've been tapping Blago for a while, so why is it coming out NOW?
