Description:

Because New Moon and Eclipse are due to be released so close together (on Nov. 20, 2009, and June 30, 2010, respectively), Chris Weitz will be in post-production on New Moon at the same time that Eclipse will be shooting.  So you know what that means...three films, three directors.

Summit Entertainment is talking to 34 year old Drew Barrymore, who recently finished her directorial debut "Whip It!"  (a dramedy about an indie-rock misfit who discovers a nearby roller derby -- and stars Drew, Ellen Page and Jimmy Fallon) as a possible director for Eclipse.

Love her as an actress, but with that little experience, I wouldn't choose her to direct Eclipse.  Would she be your choice?

i love her, but she doesn't have much experience and thats not a good thing. Yes they want someone fresh and new but im the biggest fan and i don't want them to mess things up
PLEASE NO! ill give you this she is an ok director but we need someone who directs thing like harry potter or lord of the rings someone who is really good at this whole fantasy thing not drew barrymore she is more like the real life director and i think she will ruin the whole dark "dammit that redhead chick is back"mood and the whole " holy **** the volturri are gunna kill everyone" mood going on here. quite frankly she is not the one for this kind of movie. period. buty im sure her roller derby movie will be good
no..i'm sorry...we need someone with more experience...PLEASE. i think she's ok as an actress but no...these movies are too important for them to just throw anybody in the role of director...i wish they could just slow down how fast they bring out the movies and keep one director..but i guess the actors playing vampires won't look the same if they do that. but no...NO DREW BARRYMORE!!
good point Matt L. but I really don't think that it's a good idea for her to get a start on such a big movie. if she messes something up there will be A LOT of angry people, sorry to say but that includes me! and to Misty C. I totally agree with you! if they just rush the movies out they probably won't be as good and the books being as amazing as they were they deserve to have well done movies to go along with them.
NOOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! I have nothing against Drew Barrymore but, I just CANNOT see her directing any movie. Unless it is a romantic comedy. And the Twilight Saga would just suck in my opinion if she directed it.
give her a chance. everyone has to start somewhere. SP had to start somewhere too. and look where he is....getting ripped off by Bernie
I think the movie would be perfect with maybe a more experienced director.
no no no..i think they are in to much of a hurry to get the movies out..i don't want it to be a thrown together movie just to get it out faster make a great film with a seasoned director..the fans deserve it
love her but not to direct this movie. she needs more experience.
Sorry but there's too much going on in eclipse to put it in the hands of someone with so little experience. Like most Twilight fans, I'll see it no matter who directs but I'd think Summit would put a little more thought into it if they want people to see it over and over again.
I think she will put a interesting spin and would like to see whar she can do. Drew has been in the business all her life and has been a producer as well as an actress. she has been to the darkside and back, my vote is yes.
im all for it. she is only going to direct the movie not wirte it. so id say watch the movie she directed whip it and then make a desicion. im all for drew to be a director go girl!!!!
HELL NO!!! i have nothing against Drew, but if she has only directed one movie, that is so unfair to us Twilighters, Eclipse deserves a director with experience, NOT an amateur.
Why would you have this no talent ass clown direct the third movie, which will quite possibly be the BEST twilight movie of all (eclipse is my favorite book), when she has only directed ONE film previously? and a film that required no special effects or actions scenes! its ludicrous and it shows a blatant lack of respect for the books, stephenie meyer, AND the fans!
no way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! never !!!! no shitin way
No, I don't think drew Barrymore is the right person to direct Eclipse. She doesn't seem like a director to me and Twilight, new moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn are my life and I'd rather the movies not be messed up!!!!!
