Issue:

The FAA recommended to reroute departing flights from the Philadelphia International Airport over Delaware County residential areas to reduce delays. Noise decibel levels in some regions of the county will increase between 600 and 925 percent. Hardest hit will be Ridley Park, part of Prospect Park, two-thirds of Ridley Township and portions of Swarthmore and Nether Providence.

Belief:

The FAA's plan will do very little to fix the flight delays, which are mostly weather related, but will mean an increase in noise pollution and safety hazards over our communities. We need to ban together with our elected officials and fight the FAA on this decision.

Forum Discussion for Fight FAA Airspace Redesign for PHL airport

I was driving in Swarthmore on Thursday and I saw a plane lower than ever seen before flyer over. Having lived their most of my life,I have to agree, I think they have already started.

I agree they have to think of a reasonable alternative. Otherwise people will have sell cheap and property values will go down.

The planes are all ready flying low. In the summer, I think the planes are landing in the nearest playing field. You can hear the landing grear come down and the flaps extend.

I pledged to write my elected official to oppose the flight pattern change. I believe that if we all join in we will be heard.
