My mom is a proud lesbian and has been with her life partner for 17 years! Who are we to tell her she doesn't have the same rights as anyone else? I thought this was a country that provided freedom of choice...I guess not. My mom deserves to be happy and marry the one she loves who is like my second mom. You can't help who you love and if she's happy....just let her be. Submitted by Diane T. on Fri, 10/31/2008 - 21:39
My best friend I went to school with is gay, that doesn't change how I feel about her, she's a very smart women ,and her and her partner have every right as anyone else to be married ,I agree with taylor,my husband and I don't judge, and why should you ,when people start letting go of fear, and start learning fact,I'm sure life will be alot better. Submitted by Taylor m. on Wed, 10/29/2008 - 20:40
I, personally, am straight. I fully support gay marrige. I am a firm believer in that what you do is your own business and if you're not hurting anyone then why should ANYONE have a problem with it. In the Constitution it says that all men(people)are created equal...so why on earth should anyone or any group of people be singled out because they are differnt...the beauty is in the flaw...differences should be celebrated, not discriminated against...by the way I am also completely against all forms of -isms (racism, sexism, and so on...) Isn't it ironic, and hypocritical, that the very people who are critical of gays, for supposedly being promiscuous, are now trying to prevent them from committing to one another? There seems to be no way to satisfy those bigots. Gay marriage should not be forced upon religious groups, but the government should grant civil marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples. They pay taxes, fight in the military, and are entitled to the same human rights as all the rest of us. Submitted by CJ G. on Fri, 10/17/2008 - 15:59
To the people who dont believe in gay rights!! Why do you care if they're not sleeping in your bed?? Its not really your business. Let them have their peace. There are so many other things that you should be protesting but you choose to stick on taking happiness why? You make me sick!!! Submitted by jennifer g. on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 14:29
if people say they believe in god and stand by his word then they should know god loves everyone. i am not gay, and i am a christian so i know god said do not judge unless you want to be judged. god also said we should love one another like he has loved us. therefore i love everyone i don't judge people for the way they live there lives that is for god to do one day, not everyone else. Gay people are just that people. so why shouldn't they have the rights all other people have. if they are allowed to get married how will that affect the rest of the world? i just don't see how it would. so why then is it any of by business what they do or how they choose to live thier lives? it is between god and themselves. not god them and me. MY daughter is gay, so many people say it's a choice. I believe it's who she is and who she was born to be. I have said so many times why would any one choose a life where the ignorant majority of the population shun and mistreat her and her friends. She is who she is a beautiful girl, human and daughter. I couldn't ask for better. We have been through soo much together ,and we are both stronger better people and time will eventually make a difference with more education just as all, other civil, human rights issues. If you can't say something nice don't say anything at,all,Lrt people live and be happy . Submitted by Sharon M. on Sun, 09/21/2008 - 00:59
Each to his or her own i say, it's NOTHING to do with anyone else. I accept people for who and what they are, it's their personalities that matter not their sexual orientation. Life is too short live it to the full the way you want. Submitted by Heather H. on Thu, 09/11/2008 - 04:19

Guns and drugs and alcohol arent in the bible either, but they exsist. Submitted by fran f. on Tue, 06/10/2008 - 20:16
and you don't have to be a priest, just love HIM more than yourself, you can make a difference. have a try for real.. Submitted by fran f. on Tue, 06/10/2008 - 20:11
I understand the feeling,feeling,feeling.. some would just ignore what they thought is right & godly because of feelings.. but let me tell you this, it takes deeper maturity to understand God's purposed in that paricular case.. and it takes maturity to get joy without compromised with the will of God.. it takes maturity with Him to be really happy.. You can learn to love HIM instead of him.. you will never be the same again! you'll be glad you did.. surrender your SELF to Him & get faith..get real smile.. Submitted by Danielle M. on Tue, 06/10/2008 - 01:17
its not your fault who you fall in love with reguardless if god just made adam and eve not eve and eve or adam and adam, everyone deserves to be who they want to be with Submitted by romain r. on Fri, 05/09/2008 - 19:24
of course they have the right to marriage, everybody ! Two gay people are not hurting anyone; it is two people loving each other, not bestiality and not pedophilia; there is no one being hurt. It is immoral for a group of people in power to limit the rights of others in the minority simply because they can. Submitted by Yvette W. on Wed, 04/16/2008 - 20:35
I have read most of the comments below, but gay/lesbian marriage should not be a designated right. I stand firmly and believe in the word of God, and God did not create us to be gay/lesbian lovers, if so he would have made it easier for them to have children without adoption and artificial insimination. I love everyone, i dont hate gays or lesbians i just dont agree with there lifestyle nor do i think it's biblical. Submitted by Jacquelyn s. on Wed, 08/06/2008 - 21:21
Joe Jonas Lover IM NOT PICKING A FIGHT HERE OR ANYTHING BUT...I DO BELIEVE VERY MUCH THAT IF YOU LOVE SOMEONE THAT MUCH...YOU SHOULD GET MARRIED. NO MATTER WAT SEX YOU ARE. Submitted by Deborah L. on Sat, 04/05/2008 - 16:41
From the mother of a Gay son, I have to tell you, I believe he should have all the same freedoms that the rest of the world has. He is a human being, just like the rest of us. He deserves the same opportunities, without any reprecussions or discriminations! What if all the Gay and Lesbian communities said "If I don't have the same liberties as everyone else in this country, then why should I pay taxes?" I beleive, that if you are human, then you should have the same rights as any other human, like getting married. Submitted by angie c. on Tue, 04/01/2008 - 16:07
i'm straight, but i dont see why gay or lesbians can't have rights they are people like all others and love is not about gender it's about people. Love shouldn't have a tag, love can happen with anyone. Submitted by Sarah B. on Sat, 03/29/2008 - 23:22
i think orientation is irrelevant.. Submitted by Lauren B. on Mon, 03/24/2008 - 20:41
