Everybody knows that what you learn in school has its reasons for being taught, but what about the subjects a LOT of schools are ignoring? We will all have a different career and we will succeed and fail, teens understand that, but what about the things EVERYBODY does but NOBODY wants to explain?
Of course not everybody does drugs, or drinks, or smokes, or gets pregnant at 16, but before your lifetime is over most people will admit that they have fallen into peer pressure at least once.
Why is that? It's not to be cool, to be excepted, to fit it, it's because not everybody is aware of the risks.
Schools are not always willing to offer sex education, and when it is avaliable some parents do not want their child in the class, but why? Why don't schools offer it anymore? Pregnant teens are looked down upon and it's not fair. Why should they be? The oppourtunity for learning the risks, the TRUTH, the MYTHS, or anything on the subject wasn't there, so why should they be the ones to blame?
What about alcohol, smoking and drugs?
EXACTLY WHAT ABOUT THEM? everybody participates in those things right? WRONG!!!!!!!!!! Yes, teens do it, but not everybody just a bunch of somebodys. Peer pressure plays a huge role in these activites. What can be done? How about quaterly presentations on the subjects? Classes about the risks of addiction? SOMETHING? ANYTHING? PLEASE?
Schools should not just teach you basic subjects (math, science, english, history) WHAT ABOUT THE THINGS THAT WE WILL BE FACING WITH IN A FEW YEARS, MONTHS, POSSIBLY FACING NOW? When will something be done to help raise AWARENESS to ALL students, not to just the ones who have gotten help too late.
SOMETHING HAS TO BE PUT OUT THERE TO EDUCATE STUDENTS OF ALL AGES! Why isn't it there already? Will it ever be there? Is there any hope?
