I dont think God was originally "invented to make people willing to be brainwashed"  But, thats cirtainly what he has become 

Why would anyone make a conspiracy to make people belive in God?

Well, why wouldnt they? The ones who can ensure you that you will live forever has emidiatly gained a lot of power over you. When religion becomes the authority you love, the authority,  or in the case of religion; the ones who control the authority you trust, can tell you exactly what to do, and you will feel guilty if you dont do it.

Now why do you think there is war in the world?

i believed in a benevolent 'god' up until a few years ago, when i first read Philip Gourevitch's book We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will be Killed With Our Families.

now i feel that god is simply an invention to give simple minded consumer/working class people a reason to go on living and serving the upper, properly educated, less feeble class. i remember reading of when the spaniards first started transporting african slaves over to do the dirty work. the slaves began committing suicide en masse because their lives had been stolen. what did the spaniards do? they told the slaves that suicidal behaviour would anger 'god' and that those who went through with it would inflict an eternity of torment upon themselves within the afterlife. the slaves stopped committing suicide and instead worked themselves to a different, less noble early death through the grueling back-breaking monotony their masters demanded, erecting monuments to self-elected figureheads, digging quarries and junk like that.

things aren't really all that different today, with believers. they are still needed to keep the system running - a system composed solely of corrosion. the believers, they populate the maddening multitude of jobs that enslave and torture animals - making this world their hell, saying 'god' gave them the right; the believers, they keep the compulsive educational system going, taking children from their homes and teaching them to abandon their own will and imagination. i suppose belief in god is simply a form of insanity: a sad strain of schizophrenia.. or more like - belief in a god who cares about such a failure as humanity is such.

i believe that people who continue to believe in god, those who go about preaching and attempting to persuade and cajole, to save the 'souls' of others, saying that jesus is coming... i believe these people should be sterilized, muzzled, and locked unseen and forgotten forevermore behind the factory doors where they belong... apart from the animals! the animals.. finally set free to their true earthly pasture, the beautiful animals the forgotten ones may no longer cannibalize.

Hey everyone:) If you have read some of my comments on this page I would like to inform you that I no longer belive in astrology or rebirth (I`m rebirth 50/50 agnostic, in a vage way. please ask me if you want to now exactly how that works) The universe ofcourse has a lot to say for us on earth, but not down to details like peoples personalitys. If you need to label me, please call me a life-worshiper. I worship life, not death like religions do. I find it strange that people walk around with crosses around their necks as it is a symbol of Jesus dying.. even if they dont belive he`s dead now, he sure was in a lot of pain on that cross (that is, if it ever happened) The Bibel is so full of violence though, that they are probably used to it (way too used to it)

Wrong and right is wrong and rigth whatever you belive or dont belive, a bad decision is a bad decision nomatter what.. It depends on what socialisation you became the person you are in, all influences you`ve got, all the things you`ve experiensed. It`s not the same for everyone. And if you need a guide, just bring out yout inner one. Trust youself a bit more. Being human aint bad, nomatter what a rotten old book sais.. God cares and controls the univers and knows everything, but still all that goes wrong is our fault? its absurd! If god knows everything, that includes the future, so he knows exactly witch choises you are gonna make. Ergo, in gods perfect plan there aint room for freedom, everything is planned (or just known) The consept of free will doesnt add up..nothing adds up. Yeah, I made that conclusion some years ago too. god is either evil or non-existant. And the belief in evil, turns you to see evil everywere, so I dont belive.

I support every single word you said, I do believe that the hole concept of "god" and creationism is used to brainwashed us, good thing is that some people like yourself has gone detached from that conspiracy, but like good people that we're I feel that we must try to help others to think freely. My intention is not to convince you that your god doesn't exist (for the record I don't believe in god and yes I'm an athiest) but that you can believe and serve your god without the rules that the religion demands.

My hopes are that while disgussing belifes, like here on youchoose; people can start to atleast be sivilized about it.

First off we are not just waiting around to die, although i am not afraid of death.I know one day I will be with Jesus and my parents again. What a sad life if you believe this is it. And God did give us laws but they are intended to set you free give you everlasting life not make you fell guilty or control you. When you ask Jesus in your Heart you change for the better you no longer want to do the bad thing you once did. You make that chose not anyone else. You see God also gave us free will. I choose what I do. And I choose to follow God. Do you realize Jesus Died on a cross was beaten and Humiliated first so you could be free. He did nothing to deserve that but love us. All he ask in return is that you believe in him. Love him and each other with all your heart. How hard is that. If it is certain churches that you have issue with, keep looking you will find one right for you. But please do not deny God. Your very soul depends on it. I hope to see you in heaven.

The "God given free will" you talk of ia a very restricted freedom:
If you were in a room and in that room there was two doors, one of the doors were the one you came in thrue, someone told you that you should not open the other door because it was dangerous.
Would you not be curious about that dangerous door? I know I wood. Religion condems quriosity and without curiosity you wouldnt learn anything, you wouldnt know anything and I think you would feel quite empty.

I walked out that door, and now my imagination can run free, I can think whatever I wanna think, and do whatever I want to do.

I dont have a problem about what people belive in, organized religion on the other hand, thats the bad thing. An other bad thing is addiction, if you stop smoking, or stop eating sugar, you feel free. People also get addicted to violence, it does infact seem the whole world is addicted to violence.

I may not be right in every way about this, but God is synonomus with religion most parts of todays society. If one were to split the two up; having God just being a theory, not a religion, well then there would be nothing to fight about anymore, because what you belive to be the power of god couldnt be corrupted.

I dont think he ever ment for anyone to commit violence for him, infact I think he wanted to stop the violence, instead, some people made a religion of him, and people keep on with the violence.

First of all, I belive in rebirth.
Second, ! if ! you follow religious doctrine, your just waiting around to die, and the only reason you dont "end it now" is that you belive God will send you to hell if you do.

I like the way you think, I totally agreed with you, and Buddhism has a God (but like you said is not call God), the God that Buddhism talks about is a balance force, that connects everything and everyone, is another level of existence, this is another of the major problems of some religions, giving God human emotions, which make God a potential treat if you do not submit to his laws, is the major dictator and the major lover, they portrait him as full of love and then a devastating fire of rage, is the human mind that does this, so they can some how understand the concept on this power or this immortally that God has, Is true that the form of God was an human perception, that with the time has been twist to some peoples benefits, the human perception is what creates most of the thing that rule this world, like the laws, every single law has been written by humans and based on human perception, even the laws of physics are human perceptions, the laws of God, the laws of the countries, this was a group of people that decide what was good and bad (of course according to their perception) life is so much more than laws, again because of human nature laws are simply needed, the human race in order to continue his evolution and to live without laws needs to understand that respect and love will free them from what ever law has been written.

God does exist, it is a force like gravity, like electricity, is force of balance not of control, it something that lives inside of you and that links us all together, is where we go when we die, we are all matter, and matter does not disapear it changes, I do belive there are more levels of existence, but not the ones that relegions tells you, for example, heaven and hell, what if I do not want to go eitheir place? do I have an options, and also the day of judgment, if I have a supposed free will, why Im been judge for the things I did? that just does not make any sense, God is not an human figure, or control, instep in balance. Good job on the subject of this thread. God is not only a conspiracy theory, it is the biggest most manipulated human mistake in history. God doesn't exist, only religion does-religion that has been used and abused by the clergy for centuries to control people. By using fear(that they created) and promising escape and protection from that fear, they have placed themselves in the position of power. The world is waking up, albeit very slowly. In a century or two historians will look back on this time with humor and shake thier heads. "How could they have been so blind?" How many millions have died for God already--enough is enough.
