How! can you look a cute animal in the face an then turnaround and abuse them IT just has to stop!NO two ways about it the law has to be twice has hard on the abuser. Animals are peoples best friends lets all treat them like it PLEASE!

I have been a foster home for abondoned and abused animals for appr.the last 5 years. Nothing angers me more than to see an animal hurt.Actually what infuriates me even more than that is when they let the abuser walk away! You need so much proof it is horrible! And while your trying to prove the abuse the poor animal is either suffering, gotten rid of or killed.WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE. Is it not time to bring back JUSTICE in our justice system...To Defend the weak and the helpless!

In China there is no such thing as Animal Laws... I was horrified. If you kill a dog in Beijing, you'll be charged with "damaging other's property"....

Please everyone, animals are not beneath us. We do not own them, we do not rule over them. They are not morally or spiritually less than humans. Us humans need to be much less conceited. WE DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO SEE THEM AS INFERIOR! If you look at it this way.. it is the humans that has been causing so much turmoil and loss on the world we live in. We kill ourselves, we kill each other, we bear hatred, and take our habitat for granted. How dare we think that we're on top?
We ARE NOT better than animals, we are one kind of animal. Mammal. That's all we are.

This is essential! Please realize that most of the sick serial type killers and abusers start with helpless small animals and when that no longer satisfies their demented desire to mame and kill and mutilate,they move on to small helpless children and adults!
They have to be stopped at the animal abuse stage ( which is horrific enough ) in order to keep them from more horrifing crimes.
STOP letting them off easy!

It needs to be bumped up to a federal crime!

I have always held to the idea that whatever an animal abuser did to an animal is what should be done to them. Someone who lets their pet go for days without water should be denied water for three or four days. Starve your animal to death? No food for a week. Bring them to the brink, then bring them back. Running a dogfighting ring? Deathmatch with other prisoners. If you win, you get put back into your tiny cell, fed some bread and water, run on a treadmill for a couple of miles, then fight again the next day. You lose, if you aren't killed in the ring, you get your choice of hanging, drowning, electric chair, or burned alive. In our country of reciprocal punishment, this just makes good sense!

STOP THIS BS, who with a conscience could ever abuse an animal, they have just as much right to live as any other, if even more because of their innocence. People are worse then animals and yet we treat them horrible. Abusing an animal is just as bad as abusing a person, its juts like negligence, rape, abuse, harrassment, and so forth to us. They have feelings just like us, so why would you want to hurt them? BECAUSE YOURE EVIL HORRIBLE NOT DESERVING TO LIVE PEOPLE MAYBE! jail is the only option for people that commit these crimes and hell of course.

STOP ANIAML ABUSE. Abusers are losers and I would love to see capital punishment for offenders. Animals are not less than us. We are animals ourselves. People need to stop thinking they can get a dog and then throw them in the backyard or neglect them by not taking them to the vet. People SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pledge with my life to stop this horrible subject! I have lovely cat for five years now, and I treat her like my own child. This subejct should be counted as 1st degree murder, and the people responsible should get a harsher penalty, famous or not! The belief is right, and everyone should raise their voice against this evil crime!

I completely agree with Danny T. Rotting in HELL would do it but how about a little harsh and severe punishment while the BASTARDS are here on earth with us, (Unfortunately!!). I agree with eye for an eye I see two many times people around here specificly...cutting off limbs,blow tourching cats!!and even if there caught I'll just roll my eyes knowing there only gonna get two years for this,anyone doing this to any animals should rot in the worse of all hells for eternity

I am always mad when I here that someone who tourchered or killed an animal getting a "long term"setence of two years in prison,at least an eight year sentenced for something like this with no good behavior or parole,my two dogs died the same year and rumor had it the idiot neigbor who ran as a repulican for township(got crushed everyone hated him still do)might have poisoned them....so there I looked outfrom the porch"who do I have now?" I asked and a stray cat comes up and and rubs her body against my leg....they only ask for someone to love them,and it only right we punish those who would harm our animals we love,we owe them this

Animal abuse is definately a terrible thing and there should be harsher punishments for it.

Animals are so precious. They mean no harm they have the right to live just as humans. How could anybody harm an animal? It is unacceptable and needs to be stopped with harsher laws to those who don't abide.

Laws should be changed for animal abuse in all Countries. The people in government needs to make harsher laws for animal abusers to not have a animal ever after it has been abused. Giving them a warning and not being able to have a animal for a year seems not to be working.,the government needs to take a stand.

I agree with Judith, after seeing so many instances of animal cruelty just right here on YouChoose.net and it's probably just the tip of the iceburg, what we need is harsher criminal penalties. If you are cruel to an animal, you go to jail. Mary Beth's idea to become involved in your local SPCA is a good thing to do. They could use your time, money or both, they do all that they can to protect animals who are abused by us humans.

Animal cruelty is never going to go away, unless we have harsher penalties. The punishment should suit the crime.

I watch animal cops al the time , and each time i see it i an absoultly astonished by the fact that all the people have almost no conaquences for their actions, i totally agree that this needs to be changed.

There should be laws that carry the same penalties for abusing or killing animals that there are for abusing or killing people.

I believe in eye-for-an-eye laws when it comes to animal abuse. How else do you train idiots?

It amazes me how if a person is murdered, people react so strongly. Yet if an animal is murdered, it is simply okay. That is not right; there are so many better animals out there than humans and they deserve the same respect and love they give us.
