HD DVD vs Blu Ray, Blu Ray WinnerForum Discussion for HD DVD vs Blu Ray, Blu Ray Winner Submitted by jamie l. on Fri, 02/01/2008 - 21:26
what is sad to me as a video consumer is we allways get screwed. hd dvd is by far the better format. i have no idea why people are so caught up in the bludisk size to this day sony has still not confirmed they can store 50gig. they said it is capable of it but stop short of declaring it. and i hate to tell you early adopters of blu disk that your players are hooped when 2.0 comes out. and sony will stop supporting the 1.0 format if they have not already. they were in suck a rush to get players on the market that they never came out with a standard with its features unlike toshiba who had a standard that all player manufactures had to comply with. so new blu ray disk may not play on a player that supports sony 1.0 sorry. so we the consumer get screwed out of a better format because of sonys buying power. and that is all they did buy all the hollywood studios. i will not evey own a blu play i will wait for the next format which should be released in 3 years. screwed again Submitted by Phillipe C. on Mon, 01/14/2008 - 16:43

Cost will always matter. Everyday people work hard for their money and do not wish to invest into something they feel insecure about. That's why if HD DVD hangs around long enough cost and consumer education about the product could cause people to buy the best quality product for the price...HD DVD. Cost is of course a big factor. I also don't see SONY changing it trend to milk customers of hard earned money. Sone almost never lowers cost unless it sees it's self losing money like the PSP and PS3 but as you see the PS2 is like 8 years old and it still sells for over 100.00! So if the format war goes to BR then you can expect SONY to raise cost as much as possible and then maybe start to lower as it reaches it's peak cost to consumers. I agree with you that the cost should not matter, but I also have a betamax. What can I say. Loading People... |
