Do vegans get any respect?

I'm vegan, and have been for years.
I eat food, and a wide range of it :) wider than before i went vegan, I reckon.
Some vegans get respect in some circumstances... but as with anyone, there will always be dissers and crippler-wannabees sometimes.... even if they convey themselves maturely and responsibly. For example, dissing would still manifest when dissers are unable (or unwilling) to behave maturely in response for whatever reason.

Following a herd will never get a person true respect, but having courage and succeeding in life certainly will :) I know I'm happy that I'm vegan.... are there many people truly happy with a decision to eat flesh ?

It seems to me, as if for a flesh-eater then often reaching to abstractions like "check out out teeth... they're like that of gorillas, who're.... um... heriborous yes, but look how POINTY they are", will sometimes be used a last ditch effort at trying to avoid admitting that they have no valid justification or reasoning for what they're doing.

With all the interest in animal rights, maybe it's time to consider what it means to be a vegan. Do you know a good website where we could get some more information about what it means to be a vegan?

I'm not a vegan, but you should have respect, a lot of it in fact.

ps I and a bunch of people get togethor for lunch every couple of weeks. Two are vegans and we eat in vegetarian restaurants. It's healthy.

I'm a vegetarian and my friends act ok about it but they just think I'm really fussy and weird so they don't treat me with respect

Hi I am a vegan too and i am proud to realize that i am not killing more i can say that i feel free since i started to be a vegan and not doing harm to any other species.

The only thing about that is, in my opinion, that it disrupts the cycle of nature. Humans are hunters and if there were no hunters, the hunted would become over populated and such.

Im sorry for his bad manners. It is your choice, I just hope you eat other thing to make up for the other food groups so you stay healthy. Also, why did you become a vegan?

There is no need to appologize for my actions! You are neither my dad, nor God! What gives you the right to justify another mans actions? Vegetarians and vegans, for the most part, are uneducated and idle minded: This is the point of my first post!

You dishonor your god by being such an ass. You on and on about how we all should take a Christian path and be sweet, kind, and open about differences. You spout off bible verses like a parrot yet that seems to be the closest to the bible that you get. You are being just as bad as racist just about a different group, which is worse because it’s their eating habits. You are being a hypocrite and do you thing god wants someone who calls himself a follower to be so ugly toward others.

If you believe meat is bad: Why then, oh why, were you born with canines and inscissors? Duh!!!

Really?

If you bite your dog, who will end up with more scars?
