While I agree that IE is probably one of the worst internet browsers of all time, making it illegal is extremest and oversteps the powers of government.

because it's the devil. No it is just very buggy, poorly written and a nightmare to develop web pages for.

IE6 does have problems. Don't know about the legalities, but I wish I could give a good stomp.

IE 6 is terrible, but it is still the most frequently used browser. That will not change in the near future.

Actually I disagree. Why it is not the best browser many sites out there still function best in IE6 and thats a fact. Yes it is easy to tell everyone to have their site re-designed so it is ie7 and Firefox compatible but that is not always and option, especially for the small business owner.

I think this is exactly why Microsoft doesn't ever completely follow standards. There are little or big twists in their products that lead to this behavior.

ie7 fixes some of the issues that ie6 had, but causes others. Yes, some of that can be due to ambiguous specs, but I have little doubt that it's also intentional on their part.
