Description:
As few as 3,500 Snow Leopards are left in the wild today. The snow leopard is supremely adapted to its mountain home – with their thick furry tails nearly as long as the rest of their bodies, dense, woolly fur and markings that camouflage them against the rocky slopes.
The main threat to the snow leopard's survival comes from human activities. Snow leopards are hunted illegally for their pelts. They also face retribution killings from herders over livestock and their habitat is being degraded and fragmented.
Many people in the mountain communities throughout snow leopard habitat live on less than $1 a day. They just don't have resources to protect snow leopards. Luckily, snow leopards have a unprecedented opportunity for added protection from the U.S. Government through the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act - making its way through Congress right now!
Tell Congress to support The Great Cats and Rare Canids Act, and provide much needed funding to protect Snow Leopards and other rare species.

We are all on this small spinning object together- so let's show some restraint. Not one species is more important than another.
cooooooooooooool
that has nothing to do with this
God gave us a beautiful world and man is destroying it! We need to respect all animals, they are here for a reason. Each time an animal becomes extinct, ther order of things is disturbed. The snow lepord is a part of God's world and was heere before we were. we should protect it .
We should protect all animals big or small, so that our children and their children's children can see them and love them for what they are.
Let save all the animals for our children generation.
Let's change the world for the better. Snow Leopards, Tigers and Cheetahs all need our help. Cheetahs are down to 12,000 animals. Please that wear fur are Neandrathals, Sadists and petty snobs. I don't where leather jackets either. Maybe if they lowered the value of their pelts it would decrease. It takes several animals to make a fur coat.
snow leopards are beautiful creatures and i dont think they should be hunted because someone thinks their fur coat would be a good throw rug... shame
I love all the big cats. I recently saw them on Animal Planet. My favorite in of course the tigers. They are also in danger of extinction. You have my support for saving the Snow Leopards!
