Description:
As few as 3,500 Snow Leopards are left in the wild today. The snow leopard is supremely adapted to its mountain home – with their thick furry tails nearly as long as the rest of their bodies, dense, woolly fur and markings that camouflage them against the rocky slopes.
The main threat to the snow leopard's survival comes from human activities. Snow leopards are hunted illegally for their pelts. They also face retribution killings from herders over livestock and their habitat is being degraded and fragmented.
Many people in the mountain communities throughout snow leopard habitat live on less than $1 a day. They just don't have resources to protect snow leopards. Luckily, snow leopards have a unprecedented opportunity for added protection from the U.S. Government through the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act - making its way through Congress right now!
Tell Congress to support The Great Cats and Rare Canids Act, and provide much needed funding to protect Snow Leopards and other rare species.

Big Cats are Wonderful animals... we should protect them..... save the snow leopards and other big cats in the worlds...
these are beautiful animals and should be protected.
I did a report on them when I was in elementary school. These out of all cats, are my favorite. It's terrible that they get killed. Problem is, as long as people buy real furs, this will continue with any item.
This is **** and people need to stop killing these beautiful animals. I hate this. I just can't stand that people think that it is okay for these wonderful animals to be killed for their f*cking skin. I really hate this. Come on people, I am tired of all this talk and no action. Lets do something about this.
everything on this planet is in danger including us! its time to STAND~!!!
We have lost so many animals, we must not lose this one. Snow leopards are a special interest of my granddaughter, who hopes to see one in the wild some day. I want them to still be there for her to see, and her children, as well! Helen A.
Please support the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act now moving through Congress. We have lost so many animals, we must not lose the snow leopard, as well. These rare and beautiful animals are a special favorite of one of my grandaughters. She hopes to someday be able to travel and see them in the wild. I hope they will still be there for her to see. the snow leopard is such a cool animal. simply because it is so big. u wouldn't have thought that such a mighty animal can pur but it can. and it even resembles a house cat because it eats crouching like our cat. the way it camoflages into the snow is madist.but now because of fur farming and revenge killing it is dying of like flys. if we dont do something soon it will end up like the tasmanian tiger and the dinos extinct. it will never be on earth again. all because of the way we want to look and our atitude to paybac an REVENGE. so plz stop this maddness and save the snow leopard!!!!!!!!!!!
how many times have we seen this beautifl animal? well i have never seen one, and thayts because there are so few, but i know they are there, and happy not to see one as long as they survive extiction. they are beautiful creatures, and deserve our help to keep them thriving.
Snow leopards are just jaw dropping amazing. These cats that so easily blend in with their surroundings are facing such a horrible fate. Please take the time and help stop this before its too late! Save the snow leopards!
Please do everything you can to preserve these beautiful creatures.
Please save these beautiful animals.
PLease save the beautiful snow leopard's. They need to live just like we do.
Humans need to do something to save wild animals before it's TOO LATE!!!!!!
To me it doesn't matter which animal it is. Technology is good enough to reproduce these things without harm to anything/any animal/ or anyone. Y dont they do it? STOP!!
FUR COATS STINK! DONT DO THAT PLEASE! THEY ALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE! IMAGINE SOMEONE WOULD KILL US JUST BECAUSE OF OUR SKIN!!!
STOP THIS!
dont let them all die because of humans killing them for their fur
i think it is totaly wrong to hunt or hurt these animals. they have a right to be there with out having to run or hide from humans. the people need to know what they are doing is wrong and to leave them alone.
Poor creatures. Thank goodness the government is kind enough to save those cats...

If those who reside outside of the U.S. would listen and do as we say, there would have been no 911, war of any kind and the Snow Lepard would not be heading toward oblivion. Be thank full that you live where you do in the U.S. Else where, in the name of the "People" governments just don't give a ****. This is not the best that can be done as far as responsible governments (U.S.), but, it is the best that is offered on this planet at this time. Besides, who would want to live in a society that was governed/told what's good for them by only a hand full of people. Petitioning the U.S. is not going to have the same effect as turning your voices to the actual governments involved. Go Leopards!!!
I think you have the argument totally wrong here. I sympathise enormously with the plight of the planet's wildlife and more needs to be done to educate the global village, but with the way global warming is going, I think you northern hemisphere folk should be campaigning for the protection of the snowman. You're rallying cry should be "NO SNOW, NO SNOWMAN. Is this is the slippery slope to extinction?" My advice, tell the US government to get off its big butt and make laws to stop/ban factories and industries from pumping so much greenhouse gases into the atmosphere!!
Snowmen arent more important than animals, but they are important even so. Its a part of growing up and all these things should be protected - anything that damages the natural world and all that's natural within should be protected - we'll never get it back if we lose it
