I just signed your petition and I am an American from New York, second generation New Yorker. My grandfather came from London, and like most New Yorkers, our grandparents came from Europe. They assimilated, learned English, and WANTED to be Americans. Our country too, is suffering from the enormous influx of mainly Third World immigrants, many Hispanic, who don't even bother to learn English and drive without licenses or insurance. I have to admit, that many of these Hispanic immigrants, do menial jobs that our American kids would NEVER do, like crop picking, busboys in restaurants and landscaping. NYC has always known to be a melting pot, but since 911, we CANNOT AFFORD to have immigrants from Middle Eastern/Muslim countries coming here, for security reasons! Many of these immigrants now own donut shops, gas stations,etc. and some seem to have "attitudes." They are only interested in American to send money back to their families in their native countries and to milk this country for what they can get from it. Someone mentioned diseases and crime...same thing here. I do want to say something about LONDON: I LOVE ENGLAND. I have been there now 5 times, starting in the late 70's as a summer college student at London Univ. I hadn't been back there though, since the late 80's when my husband and I went on our honeymoon. We went to London to see the Rolling Stones at Twickenham about 2 years ago and boy, has London changed!!!! I never want to go back there again!!! Full of Muslims, including the hotel near Oxford st. near Marble Arch, which was FULL of rich Arabs, who TOOK OVER THE ENTIRE HOTEL LOBBY, smoking their cigarettes, which was against the rules, the men sitting separately from the women and being very arrogant in general. We were rather shocked and as Americans, felt very alienated, almost threatened. We proudly wore our NYC tee shirts on purpose, one with the Twin Towers on it. I was so DISAPPOINTED on how my beloved London changed since the late 80's when I was there last. I also have a friend in Manchester who complains about the same thing other people have posted on here. We actually had to get out of London and rent a car to the Kent area, to find "real English" people/villages/pubs,etc. to get the true, origninal character of England!!! It is sad and I really feel for you people in the UK. We plan on going back to England this summer to see the U2 tour in Manchester and hopefully go to the beautiful Lake District once more. No way will I go back into London or fly into Heathrow!! Sorry to write so much!

I hate the foreigners taking over our country, there are not enough jobs and not enough homes, and where I live in London I do not see any english culture, what is it? Its missing here. They take our homes, if you are unlucky enough to be sick and not able to afford a mortgage, you are stuck as foreigners have all the homes, you cannot move out, there are no places to move too. Only one year ago, my neighbour moved from Africa straight into a council place, and she has no kids. How can this happen? it is not fair, the country may as well not be England at all, if the government had to put up with foreign culture day in and day out, they would soon tire of it, but no, they are all english in the house of commons and they live in english suburbs, the most of them. I hate London and cant wait to get out.

I hate this coountry now, I cant move, as I am too sick to get work and get a mortgage and moving on the council is impossible and why, because all the foreigners have all the homes, only last year my neighbour moved from Africa straight into a council place. How unfair is that and she has no kids, I am fed up with it, in London they take our jobs, and in my part of London I forget what British culture is as I do not see any.

26,000 foreigners have came over to Northern Ireland alone in the past three years as they are coming over for 'better work prospects and future' as a result the Northern Irish people are struggling to find work and unemployment has reached 64,000. The government should look after its people and deport these foreign workers as it is not fair.

Since they were allowed to come into the UK so easily the crime rate has indeed increased. Just look in your local paper to see how many of them are in court every week. Mostly for drink driving, how long before they kill somebody whilst driving a car when they are drunk.
Our local park has become a meeting place for the local immigrants and each morning it looks like a council tip with beer cans and wine bottles strewn about all over the place. At night times the park has become a no go area for the locals.
I think it is the immigrants attitudes that is the biggest problem. They hang around in groups and stare at you like you have done something wrong.
If we have to put up with them at least make them stick to the same laws and regulations that we have to. My own granson was not allowed to take Christmas cards into school for his friends as this may "UPSET THE MUSLIM CHILDREN" yet a few weeks later the muslim teacher was talking to the whole class about how the muslim children live.

Illegal immigrants or any kind of foreigners should be kept out of this country! People should make more of an effort to improve their own countries economic system rather then living off us!

I am not a racist. I dont mind people of other races in the country if they were born here but all this coming over from another country is ridicious and they cant even speak english most of them so it is taking all the culture out of the country. There is far too many people living in the country now and we cant even get new houses because of them. Everything that I am talking about is fact.
