Description:
Right now, Congress is debating the future of the Internet. The good news is national lawmakers in Washington have successfully protected Internet access from Federal taxes. The bad news is that the laws that keep Internet access tax-free will EXPIRE NOVEMBER 2007. Congress should protect American consumers and achieve the bi-partisan goal of passing the "Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act of 2007" which seeks to permanently extend the moratorium on Internet access taxes and duplicative taxes on e-commerce.
We, the undersigned, support the "Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act of 2007".
Congress & Senate put your own houses in order first, like giving yourselves a pay cut and then work for your pay like regular folks. enough is enough. Time for another tea party, Huh.
Today, laws are still heavily influenced and lobbied by a bunch of small groups (oligopols) because, for instance, a few cents more at the gas pump have a much more significant impact on their accounts than on those of the millions of ordinary mortals.
And then there is government, always eager to invent another extra tax on top of those we already pay. Has anybody even noticed that we are already paying taxes for the use of the Internet? We purchase computer hard- and software and electricity, pay phone and Internet providers, pay for the merchandise that we order and its shipping fees, and so on. The companies on their end pay taxes as well, just like any other business. So what could possibly be an excuse for adding another tax on top of all that?
If state or federal government want to make a modification to the tax system, modify the absurd «VAT only in the same state» policy. This insane nonsense causes unnecessarily long transports, both in time and distance, which only damages the environment. Have everybody pay the same VAT, no matter where they are located or ordering from, that would al least make some sense.
The days that aspects like «making sense» or «being fair/reasonable/comprehensible» were taken into consideration by institutions and policy makers may long be gone, but why not at least start with them and leave the others for later?
Wake up America. When are we going to stop letting taxes keep going up and up. Yet, it never goes for what they promise, like education, health care, etc. Read on please:
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!!!
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed .
Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.
Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.
Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass
Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin ,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.
Put these words
Upon his tomb ,
" Taxes drove me to my doom..."
When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the
Most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had
The largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the
Kids.
What happened? Can you spell "politicians!"
And... I still have to "press 1" for English.
I hope this goes around THE USA at least 100 times
snatchin civil liberties
