Description:
Dollhouse fans, have you heard? FOX is cutting the final episode entitled "Epitaph One" from their lineup. While the episode will still be included in the July 2009 DVD release of Dollhouse Season 1, the total number of aired episodes for the first season will drop down to 12 from the originally planned 13-episode run.
For those of you who are true Whedonites, you already know the FOX network used similar tactics during Joss Whedon's previous small-screen hit, Firefly, before abrubtly canceling the show after just one season. There has been no official word as of yet what the network's plans are for Dollhouse (it is rumored renewal decisions will be determined during the last week of May).
I don't know about the rest of you, but I for one do not wish for Dollhouse to meet the same terrible fate as Firefly. There is still a great deal of potential for this show, and I'd like to see the writers be given the chance to dive deeper into the storyline. The dolls are finally starting to develop as characters (even though this really shouldn't happen) while each week Agent Ballard inches a little closer to uncovering the existence of the Dollhouse. There is just too much going on to end it now!
So, whether you entered the Whedonverse many years ago as an old-school Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan or this is your first Joss Whedon experience, if you enjoy Dollhouse and want to see it continue, then please sign this petition and let FOX know we want a second season! Don't let another great show bite the dust before its time!
