Individuals should be completely informed and consulted to their rights( in the event they become incapacitated) while they are of sound mind, to decide what is best in a life/death (and all other) medical dilema that should occur in the future. A living will/ advanced directives is a legal document that helps insure the wishes of the incapacitated individual are met. It should also be discussed with loved ones, and primary care physician, as to where one is located and the directions that are expected to be followed. This will allow anyone from having to make that decision under extreme duress. Everyone should always be in charge of thier own health care!!!
I don't understand why it is so difficult for people to discuss this topic with family. Fortunatly I have all this set up.
