I've been living in Scandinavia (Sweden) where recycling, lower gas emissions, responsible logging (by regularly planting new trees in place of those taken down), etc. have been a way of life for a very long time now. It's just unfortunate that the European efforts to globalize cooperation against global warming have been met with resistance from other nations who are some of the world's largest polluters. I just hope that these countries, specially the superpowers, realize that no amount of military,  technological, and economic superiority can stop the eventual onslaught of Nature when it strikes back in accordance with how poorly we have treated it. For we may suddenly find out that we humans are not at the top of the food chain after all.....

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, but borrow it from our children.

so true... its good to see something like this is being promoted...

even a few software companies i know are taking some good measures ... like using less paper....

Global warming refers to the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation.

The effects of forcing agents on the climate are complicated by various feedback processes.

One of the most pronounced feedback effects relates to the evaporation of water. In the case of warming by the addition of long-lived greenhouse gases such as CO₂, the initial warming will cause more water to be evaporated into the atmosphere. Since water vapor itself acts as a greenhouse gas, this causes still more warming; the warming causes more water vapor to be evaporated, and so forth until a new dynamic equilibrium concentration of water vapor is reached with a much larger greenhouse effect than that due to CO₂ alone. (Although this feedback process involves an increase in the absolute moisture content of the air, the relative humidity stays nearly constant or even decreases slightly because the air is warmer.

Use only what is necessary, and tell a friend.  If not for us, but for the children and future children of the world.

they said the global warming is caused by the american and europian, I think it is caused by my city. they cut all the trees, they ride their vehicles and cause a lot of smoke, they even throw they rubbish everywhere. This is a goddamned city for me where everyday is hell. And I'm sure, the people here in Indonesia really don't care about the issue of global warming.
