I got very surprise when I read comments like the one by eidechsenkoenigin D. Do you really think that being talented and sensitive involves taking drugs? And you call other people small minded?! Amy Winehouse is a great artist. But is also a drug addict and the industry and media are making lots of money selling us her misery too. I'm glad to see that there are people who are capable to see beyond the "rebel against rehab" image encouraged by the inmorals that manage her career. I'm glad that many people realizes she needs help and try to do something.
Hi grisel n.! It's good you are saying something constructive in this discussion. I never said being talented "involves" taking drugs, of course it doesn't. I'm not a "rebel" und I'm not "against rehab", but I think it's her personal resbonsibility und what you call "help", to boycott her music, is simply a blackmail attempt. Who defines what is "sick" or what is "inmoral", who has the right to judge? The problem is that the collective always thinks to know what a "good life" should be like and how a human being has to think and to act, mass-opinion is making the rules, and the sheep follow. Noone demands that you should like what other people do, but at least you should be able to tolerate other ways of life. Once again: I'm not saying taking drugs is a good idea, but you (not exactly you, grisel, I mean most of people here) should think twice before you blame someone for things you don't understand, because finally we all know nothing about her reasons or her personality!
amy, be as strong as you sing in your songs. hold on, don't allow that little **** controls your life, you're more than that, you're bigger than that. love you.
Either get your **** together or go somewhere and die quietly. Be a positive role model for the kids, or a perfect negative example of what happens to junkies, but don't make kids think it's cool.
