People have no respect for muslims.
This is in response to Amy W. and anyone else who puts misinformation and innuendo out on the internet: Separation of church and state was put in the Constitution for one reason: so that one religion's principles would not overwhelm the people's right to practice as they please with whatever god they chose. You must remember that inb England, The Church of England was the only church allowed, and the appropiate religion the only one allowed. Well, as you can see, they eliminated requiring citizens of the new nation to adhere to one official religion. I personally don't like when it's inferred that what I believe in makes me less than or inferior to you. I don't tell you how to believe and you don't tell me how to believe. I don't need to hear someone's opinion about how they believe especially when it's coming from a book that started in 600 B.C. and endorses slavery, mass murder, being put to death for working on the sabbath, and endorsing 2nd class status for women. So what if Muhhamed's picture is up on some website? Why would anyone get angry at his picture being shone anyway? If that gets people upset, maybe they need to really think what kind of example they are demonstrating.
"Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on Man." Thomas Jefferson, 3rd U.S.President. I think this quote is more accurate about the affairs of any religion than anything I've ever heard from anyone. If you want to learn of an interesting bit of Jeffersonian history read Ana Celia E's comment.
I think its stupid people getting offended about seeing a picture of someone being posted someone
its just a guy. hes nothing special. You should get over it. Religion i based on someones idea. Its fake used to control the common people b/c they dont want to think for theirselves, well most of them, most humans are sheep the ones that arnt are the wolves leading the sheep.
Penny F. I think you are correct, in a way. Yes religion is used to control people and to keep them from independant thought. An organized religion (any organized religion) becomes offended when a member of the "church" or "flock" as they are sometimes called, questions or believes differently than they do. They try to push on you what their interpretation is. Although if you read in the bible there is a place that tells you that each individual gets what God wants them to have from the bible. (not meaning pic and choose from the bible) but if you and I were to read the same chapter, verse etc from the bible we would each get a different interpretation from it. My child is not going to get the same meaning from reading the same chapter as I do. And as far as it being fake, that I can't agree to, but that is your belief so I will not attack you about it, but I will tell you from someone who's been there. A higher power is there you just have find it from within. Nobody can really lead you to it and in my opinion that isn't the way "OUR" higher power intended it.
For those that don't respect "Religion" that is how you feel, however I think if you have no respect for religion then you shouldn't insult the belief system of someone else. They may not have your same beliefs or values but they still have a higher power in their life no matter his name. Our country was founded on the basis of "Freedom of Religion", one of the fundamental basis, all people need to keep that in mind. Whether Christin, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan, Wiccan, Catholosism or Atheism, or any other religion, it is an individual freedom of every person in this country that our forefather's fought and died for as well as many of our ancestor's moved from there home country's to give there families and decendants the right to have. And our soldier's are still fighting for it today on foreign lands.
Deal with it People! Get over it. Throughout the centuries, no idea in this world has caused more hostility and human death (homicides really!) than religion. Greater even than all the wars fought over kingdoms, lands and seas! Indeed, we are all victims of it even today as the American tragedy of 9/11 will attest. And all religions are guilty of these atrocities as they seek to force others to believe as they do. It's time we as an intelligent species living upon this planet grow beyond this petty fighting and killing over differences in our beliefs in and of the nature of a deity. Whether or not God exists is secondary to the issue that we all seem to differ about the nature of this god and the various religious rituals and beliefs that surround the entire idea. We humans are better than this! We can grow beyond this petty bickering. We have the capacity to live together in peace and prosperity upon this planet, and we can do this by embracing our differences - recognizing that they are a source of our strength and diversity. They are NOT a weakness. The bottom line is, everyone has a right to believe in whatever it is he or she wishes to believe in; indeed, a right even to believe in nothing. And no one has the right to impose their religious beliefs and practices upon others - although most of the world's religions would tell you otherwise. You can advertise, you can teach, you can lead by example, But you CANNOT impose! Perhaps that is one of the greatest sins: ill respect of the rights of others to believe and live as they wish.
Until this species can grasp this idea and put it into practice, there is no hope. The Christians will not win; the Muslims will not win; the Jews will not win, etc. But many will die. God didn't intend for things to turn out like this! From the point of view of the Creator, this is all shear madness. Get over it!
Give me a break. If your offended by the pictures, who cares. I'm offended when I see people from the middle east burning our flag, beheading our citizens, spitting on our nation, in the name of Allah.
You won't tolerate this any longer???? Are we suspose to be afraid.. Whoa, I'm shaking in my shoes. Take your best shot..We have a better one for you this time. If you don't like my country, GO HOME and don't let the door hit you inthe butt on the way out.
Maybe it is our nation that won't tolerate anymore...Just don't make threats on America or our people any more. WE ARE NOT AFRAID.
yes u people are afraid .. afraid of dying.. u people r not sure about ur religion,, each one of u had his own bible.. even versions.. u people are not sure about ur holy book, wat can be expected from u people..u people are lost.. truth will be revealed to u as soon as u die,, sooner or a bit later..
Removes these pictures immediately... We Muslims are the only people who respect Prophet Essa(Jesus) and Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W.) both..One cant be a Muslim if he/she disrespects even one Prophet of Allah. We dont make pictures of any Prophet and so we want these pictures to be removed or the Muslims will not tolerate these acts any longer and things will get severe as they had been in the past.
I don't judge a book by it's cover, there is only one who has that wright Pic don't bother me ,peoples character's do.There is good and bad in every religion.
If you don't want to see a picture of Muhammed don't look at it. This is the problem with intolerance and intolerant people. Go live somewhere where everyone lives (or is forced to live) by the same values. The US is (still) a free society. Let's keep it that way.
I looked at some images of Muhammad and thought for the most part they were respectfully done, like some images of Jesus. Neither are meant to offend only inform. If there are negative comments, chances are they come from uninformed people who are afraid of things they don't understand. We'll all be judged in the end for our own behavior, don't become ignorant to prove a point.
Since most of the comments of the creator of this petition can no longer be read, I'm not sure exactly what they are getting at. However, there are some
truisms that I'm certain apply to this situation.
(1) The truth is its own defense.
(2) In countries with freedom of speech, no one has
the right not to be offended.
(3) People of any religious conviction need to come to
terms with the fact that their religious taboos
cannot be applied to others outside that
particular faith.
(4) Those who seriously believe that their religious
taboos should be recognized by all outsiders (and
who are troubled beyond endurance when this is
not practiced) should for their peace of mind
and public safety contemplate emmigrating to a
nation that considers it important to
prohibit freedom of speech in order to enforce the
religious taboos of that particular faith.
(5) Those who appreciate living in a country with
democratic government and rights such as freedom
of speech need for the sake of peace and harmony
to seize and desist from trying to force their
religious taboos on others.
I think this pretty much covers my position on this
subject.
We respect Jesus Christ PBUH and in the same way we expect you to respect our Prophet PBUH
