We need to reconnect immigration with Americanization, requiring immigrants to read, write, and speak English.

I agree - how do the naturalized citizens pass the test if they cannot read and write the language? I believe that language should be preserved in the home but not that it is the only langugae spoken

I wish America would choose a national language. Why should we taxpayers waste money on printing forms in other languages. While ordering food, someone wanted 8 sandwiches to go. The manager passed the order on twice and then had to give it in Spanish for the employee to understand, so we have to teach our managers to speak how many languages? It's hard enought to find someone bi-lingual.
