My family has spent a tremendous time praying about this electtion and it's considered very important to us. However, we do not feel comfortable about Obama being in the White House due to his background including the type of church he was involved with, how he feels about abortions, his communications with the Muslims, and how his plan seems to impose more taxes on the hard-working small-business owners that make up a good bit of our country. The no tax increase for income making less than 250,000 and health care sounds just too good to be true. As a christian American and supporter of our local non-denominational church, we feel that Obama would be a threat to our freedom of religion and considering white people would become his minority after learning how his church views white people. Sorry. We've been praying and our hearts tell us McCain/Palin.

Nobody will ever change another persons mind about her intelligence. Dumb people will always see her as smart because she at least appears, at times, to be more intelligent than they are. But it does speak to their knowledge base, work ethic, discipline. In order to play within that playing field, they have to be competitive and relate to that playing field. Even so much as 30 years ago this wasn't the case, but it IS absolutely the case today.

This relates to an earlier comparison to the educational backgrounds of our founding fathers and today, and something along the lines of she is like a comfortable pair of shoes, and would make a great VP:
Comparing the educational needs of the president and VP today with those of our founding fathers is worse than comparing apples and oranges. True, people don't have to be formally educated to be smart, and similarly, just because they have a formal education does not make them smart. But it does speak to their knowledge base, work ethic, discipline. Moreover, and more importantly, in today's world, having a higher education degree is necessary because the vast majority of those in high positions already have high education degrees. In order to play within that playing field, they have to be competitive and relate to that playing field. Even so much as 30 years ago this wasn't the case, but it IS absolutely the case today.
Personally, a comfortable pair of shoes is the last thing I want near the White House, world leaders, or nuclear buttons. I want someone very intelligent, well spoken, level headed and well rounded, and VERY highly educated.
Sarah Palins 2.0 gpa for a journalism degree says this about her: Either she is smarter than that but very lazy and undisciplined and doesn't like to study, or she is disciplined and hard working but very stupid. I don't like EITHER of those choices for VP!!!
However, the argument about whether being a governor vs. a senator makes someone more or less qualified for either of these positions (President or VP) is absurd. Both are qualifying positions, no doubt. But that's not what makes Sarah Palin unqualified. Her inability to speak correctly ('em instead of them, goin' instead of going, nucular instead of nuclear, ya instead of you, etc.) and her clear lack of understanding of world events (unless it's spoon fed to her beforehand) and clearly poor knowledge base is what makes her unqualified. The 2.0 gpa for a journalism degree is just another indicator to that fact. Seriously, a 2.0 gpa in JOURNALISM, that is truly pathetic for any job application!!!!!

The difference between Reagan, Clinton and Palin is that Reagan and Clinton spoke intelligently and demonstrated excellent "knowledge base", where Palin has proven unable to do (unless it's someone else's ideas, scripted and in an environment where she can't get a question she doesn't already have someone else's answer to).
The population of the state she governs is hundreds of thousands less than the city of Detroit!!!
Moreover, her 5 years, 4 colleges and only a 2.0 gpa for a bachelor degree in journalism is completely unacceptable credentials for the VP (second in line for the most powerful position on the planet). If we can't hold those in the highest positions to the highest of educational standards, what does that say about our country? While I concede that college doesn't automatically mean intelligence (though it does speak to knowledge base), it should continue to be an important factor in selecting someone for the second highest job in the land. Her college credentials do not make her qualified for most of the powerful positions in this country!!
The Constitution states that the requirements for VP are the same as those for the President, and we should consider that when choosing the VP.
If a foreigner is allowed to comment I must say that the entire world shudders at the thought of waking up someday to President Palin. Personally I have been as concerned about someone so underqualified to wield such enormous power since Al Haig's famous "I'm in charge here" statement in 1981.

How many presidents where governors first before they became president. Regan, Clinton, Bush all governors first. How does this not qualify Palin? Oh and by the way she is running to be Vice President, Obama is running for THE president and has no executive experience. I would like someone to tell me which executive experience he has?? hmmmmmm

I seems to me that people can't see that we need someone that is a straight to the point leader not someone that will talk in circles like most polititions do is is refreshing
Um, she is more qualified than Obama! He has practically no experience in the government whatsoever, and he's actually running for President. Palin will make an excellent VP.
Perhaps you should educate yourself more on the actual facts:
Obama has been in government longer than Sarah Palin.
Obama: Illinois State Senate 1996-2004. US Senate 2004-present
Palin: Mayor 1999 - ? not sure how long, Governor 2006 - present
15 governors have been president, 16 senators have been president. BOTH positions qualify someone for the presidency.
