Description:

Coors plans to redevelop our current site have now been lodged. Their 'solution' to replace our stadium is to have floodlights put up at Alton United's ground in Anstey Park and for both clubs to share that stadium. This of course, is unsatisfactory for both clubs for a number of reasons - not least that the Wessex League do not allow ground sharing!

1) Alton Town play in the Wessex League where ground sharing is not allowed.

2) Alton United currently have 26 teams - all wanting to use that facility as much as possible. To share with another 3 senior teams (even were it allowed by the league) is not practical and not sought by either club.

3) Alton Town require a ground to FA Ground Grading standard F - that means much more than simply throwing up some floodlights.

We need as many signatures as possible of people who are against the above and of those who don't wish to see one of Hampshire's longest existing football club's fold.
