Bob Malone, BP Chairman and President: We, the undersigned, feel that the permit granted in Indiana to allow BP, the largest oil refinery in the Midwest, to expand the Whiting refinery and in doing so discharge increased amounts of ammonia and suspended solids into Lake Michigan is absurd. At a time when billions and billions have been invested in the rehabilitation of the Great Lakes, we should not be taking a step backwards. BP needs to look for ways to make its water treatment process more environmentally friendly or we will take our business elsewhere.
