Save Our Wolves.82 Signatures
Intended Recipient:President Bush and our Government. Alaska's Govenor Description:Defenders of Wildlife and the National Wildlife Federation have been trying to save North America's wolf population. They are being slautered in Alaska. For the new oil pipelines that President Bush wants to profit from. There have been 700 wolves killed last year in Ak alone. They are shot by aeriel hunters. They are chased by helecoptors until exhaustion and then killed. Adult wolves and their pups. Predators are needed for any eco-system. Wolves are afraid of people. There land has been taken from them for years. To the point of almost extinction in the U.S. Yellowstone National Park is supposed to be a sanctuary for these and other creatures, but they are not guaranteed safety there either. Wyoming and Idaho are also trying to exterminate wolves from there states. Land needs to be put aside for these beautiful creatures. This planet does not just belong to human animals but all of it's animals.Please help me to save them. They need our help before it is to late.

Save the wolves. Hunters must be stopped
This aerial huntings MUST be stopped!
This is so senseless and cruel... it can't be that someone like Sarah Palin is the cause of the death of hundreds of wolves! I would NEVER EVER vote for McCain, because I am afraid that she could become the president - that would be a mess! Wolves are kind of great animals - please stop kill them senselessly!
In order to save the wolves, we should regulate hunting them. Regulation would generate money for further regulation in sales of "tags". Tags quantities can be decided by the game management dept (these men & women are biologists & scientists)who know the impact of species numbers. By the way if wolves go unchecked, their food source will dwindle and their numbers will decline anyway, but with adverse conflicts to humans. Other states have regulated hunting and wildlife benefits from it. finally, hunters give more to wildlife conservation than any other group(fact).
Palin is an avid hunter as is her entire family. She is in bed with lobbyists for the hunting industry. She put a 'bounty' on wolves, paying $150 for the left foreleg of each wolf killed. She promotes the aerial hunting of wolves and bears.
She actively opposed a ballot measure campaign seeking to end the aerial hunting of wolves by private hunters and approved a $400,000 state funded campaign aimed at swaying people's votes on the issue.
She introduced legislation to make it easier to kill wolves and bears and which would have also removed the aerial hunting initiative from the ballot and block the ability of citizens to vote on the issue.
The Board of Game, which she appoints, has approved the killing of black bear sows with cubs as part of the program and expanded the aerial control programs.
Palin has actively opposed the listing of the polar bear despite the fact that Alaska's top marine mammal biologists agreed with the federal scientists who believed the bear should be listed. She wrote the Secretary of Interior urging him not to list the bear on the ground it might hurt the state's oil- and gas-dependent economy.
Palin discounted the findings of nine recent U.S. Geological Survey studies which concluded that the polar bear's habitat is threatened, and the animals could be extinct before this century ends.
Three of Palin's own state scientists reviewed the USGS studies and found them sound,but she argued, that "there is insufficient evidence that polar bears are in danger of becoming extinct in the foreseeable future". She claimed this 'evidence' was based on "a comprehensive review by state wildlife officials of scientific information from a broad range of climate, ice and polar bear experts."
Basically she lied because University of Alaska professor Rick Steiner, asked the Palin administration for months requesting the documents. "She came out and said, 'our scientists agree the polar bears are fine and should not be listed'" when that wasn't the case
After the bear was listed, she filed suit seeking to overturn the listing of polar bears.
Got help the animals if she becomes Vice President. McCain is how old? It is very possible he may not live his entire term and Palin will become President. That is a very scary thought.

Sarah Palin shoots wolves from planes, and I would never, ever vote for her or McCain because of this cruelty to animals. She is a sicko.

They are the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen. Yes they come in contact with humans once in a while, but it doesn't mean that they are tracking us to just kill us. We kill to survive. Why is it not the same for them as well? For any animal for that matter...Stop poaching! Save the Wolves!
Wolves are our best friend's ancestors! I have met a few wolves in my life time and none of them have attacked. They are beautiful creatures, not killers. We kill to live and survive. Why is it different for them?

I agree wolves are beautiful cretures and need to be saved.
i have a syberian wolf myself (not as housepet, keeping one inside a house is a very bad idea) and the only thing i can say is this: as long as you're considered a friend to them i doubt you'll be able to find more loyalty even in humans.

To save the wolves we must insure they do not overpopulate and drive other species into extinction. Thining out the wolf over population is and important part of this process. All of you sniveling moron crybabies need to put down your french sperm flavored latt'es, get a real job and quit pondering things you don't understand.

It's a little tricky to have an over population of any animal that is on the endangered species list, isn't it? And even if there were an over population, there are far more humane ways of "thining out" that population than, for example, shooting them from an airplane and watching them writhe in agony as they slowly bleed to death.
If you had any actual concept of precicely how these animals are murdered, I doubt that you'd be able to refer to those of us who are opposed to the brutality as "sniveling moron crybabies". Then again, maybe you're just one of those sick, sadistic, mentally unbalanced individuals who used to torture the neighbourhood pets when you were a kid because you get off watching other sentient beings suffer.
Last time I checked, none of their natural prey are in danger of becoming extinct. The only reason they do this in Alaska is to insure more game for the dumb A$$ hunters who want to hang a dead animal on their wall. I think your fantasy about sperm has impacted your thought process...oh wait a thought process would require a brain.

Wolves may be off teh endangered list, but it still doesn't mean they can't get back on it quickly. People need to continue to help saving wolves.

The wolf is actually more human than humans are. What humans are doing to wolves makes me embarrassed to be one. We should not allow Alaska and other states to be a part of the country if they continue to kill wolves at will.
Most people don't know how devastating the death of wolves can be to the natural order of the wild. It screws up the natural food chain. Everyone worked hard to bring back the wolves to Idaho, Montana and Wyoming and now that they are coming off the endangered list, the hunts are already organizing in these states. We have seen the same with grizzly bears. Oh, and to forget the buffalo is horrible. Why in God's name do these hunters think they are God!??? Some day it is all gonna bite us in the butt cause we didn't do what was right for our animals, I have been around all the above animals, at a safe distance, totally in awe of them. It is suppose to be OUR government but they don't want to hear us. It always seems to be the Republicans that want to kill kill kill. And it is their policies that will do us in.
I've been a member of Defenders of Wildlife for several years and I believe in what they are doing. Please stop killing the beautiful wolves that have been put here by God, just like you and me. Especially the way they are being slaughtered is totally inhuman. Please stop killing these beautiful creatures.
