Description:

Polaroid Corp., the Massachusetts company that gave the world instant film photography, is abandoning the technology that made the company famous.  The company plans to make only enough film to last into next year.

The company is interested in licensing its technology to an outside firm that could manufacture film for Polaroid customers. If no one bites, Polaroid users would have to find another photo technology.

Sign this petition if you will still want to purchase film for your Polaroid camera.

polaroids make the moment count!don't ruin the marvel.

PHOTOGRAPHY IS NOTHING WITHOUT POLAROIDS

Polaroids are tiiiiiiight

I'm really going to miss polaroids if they stop making them. It's one of the few links we have to the past. It's a mini time machine that takes care of the present. Don't stop believing.

Whatever that company does with how their business is run i don't care but whatever they do I'm pretty sure its obvious to them that they should not get rid of the Polaroid film! why would they get rid of what gave them business its like a mother killing her own child its psychotic!

i posted the website on my myspace and told friends about it i hope i can get more signatures, im sure more people want the film to continue being made!

Please don't let instant films die! T~T

I love polaroids! I agree, please, Polaroid, either continue making the film or license it to someone else!

Please save instant film. I have all these cameras and no film can I find.

MB, could you post here how someone can co-sponser a campaign? There are several I would like to co-sponsor but others beat me to it! I think it's ridiculous not to have Poloroid instant photography. A lot of people still like instant photography. It's a lot of fun, it gives you a real hard copy that you can give away to others while you are taking pictures of family and friends while you are all togethor. No electronic photo processing, no awkard sharing of files, no printin a photo on your printer that sometimes gives awful quality, like the infamous black background in photos that have far away depth of field in low light conditions. It seems weird that they won't liscense the tcchnology. If they liscensed it they would get royalties. If they just discontinue making the film, they don't get anything. Doesn't seem to make sense, I hope Polaroid changes their minds.

Think of all of the functions you've attended, mostly non profit, where a fund raiser was to have your photo taken with a celebrity. I have a bunch of polaroid treasures. I hate to see that technology go.

Today's newspaper had a story about this too telling people to save their old photos and ask Polaroid to reconsider. I'd say your petition has had some success.
