Stage6 will be shut down on Feb 28th 2008.

 

According to the blog post by a DivX employee, the reason why they are shutting the service down is mostly that the operation of Stage6 is an expensive enterprise that requires an enormous amount of attention and resources that they are not in a position to continue to provide. As Stage6 grew quickly and dramatically, it became clear that operating the service as a part of the larger DivX business no longer made sense.

We, the undersigned, would like to keep Stage6 alive, either as its own private DivX entity or by selling it to another company.  We ask DivX to revisit their decision.

i am interested in stage6, when i use it in my friend's personal computer. recently i had net connection. when i connected to net immediately i gone through the stage6. i was shock after seeing that the stage6 is stopped.

Please....Is there anything we ca do to bring Stage 6 back? I miss it so much!!! The quality... There is nothing like it on the web.

I would like to see Stage6 back. There picture quality on uploaded videos were second to none. Not like most others e.g. YouTube that degrade the video format so much so, you end up most often than not seeing picture blocks. Bring it back even if it means a monthly subcription fee to help out! top-boy (veoh)

stage6 planed to shut down.that wy we weren't given the opportunity to pay for it i was willing to pay 10.00 a month gust to use stage6 we were used like a cheap hooker!

Shuting down stage 6 is a tragedy for the internet!
This was the only video upload and download site with quality and diversity, never seen before on the internet.
A real shame, and a real loss for the internet.
Please bring it back, if they want to shut down, shut down you tube instead and resurrect stage 6 out of his ashes.
