It appears that the Producers are 'bottom-lining' it, but they continue to forget that thay also make bucks when they put a Season into Syndication. I do not get Sci-Fi, or any cable, so I have to wait until it's released. I bought the 1st and 2nd Season of 'Atlantis' on DVD, and plan to continue getting Seasons when I can. Perhaps it's for lack of story plots; if that's true, then maybe some new writers (at higher salaries!) could come up with new story lines and keep feeding all of the 'reality' program junkies, such as myself, fed (as well as making bunches of bucks for the Producers!!). Even my wife, who does not like Science Fiction, loves 'Atlantis'. We watch, we buy, we remember, even if a series is not renewed. I'm confused by the 'reverse psychology' of the operating plan.
why would they cancel a brilliant series ilove it .every one in it is brilliant.they must be mad .when star trek was cancelled people went crazy they bought it back when they tried to kill spock people went mad they bought him back.so come on S,G,A fans let us be heard ...WE WANT IT BACK......LONG LIVE STARGATE ALANTIS...........YEAH......

A great loss! My only question is what do we get in return? Stargate Universe? Why would one make a mmo of it if the SG world wouldn't have millions of fans.

you're right. i saw recently a documentary on discovery about "stargate" and they were talking about the huge succes that the serial had.it's like the whole world stops when stargate is on tv. i love this serial. we all know that SG-1 was better than SGA but at least after SG-1 ended we had SGA.
I don't know the motive of the cancellation but really they may be really stupid if they cancell a serial that has such a big succes and we don't talk only about the people from America because i am not an american, i am living in Europe and i can see the huge succes and impact that Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis had here.
Please don't cancell SGA and bring back SG-1. I want to know what will happen with Sam/Jack.They must get toghether. There are millions of planets out there, you can write millions of episodes. Why cancelle SG-1 and SGA? This are the only tv-serials worth watching nowdays. There are interesting, funny, intelligent, we can find so many things about the universe, maths, chemestry, physics....come on don't cancelle SGA and bring back SG-1.

Stargate Atlantis must be saved as this is the last great Stargate program on the air and please bring back Amdand Tapping as General Samantha Carter even if its just from time to time as when she is on the show its even better!

O.M.G! posted a email address for mgm earlier in the petition and got a reply today. It seemed like a bog standard reply saying that they too were upset that the show had been cancelled but it was a situation out of their control. Well if sci fi say it wasnt them but mgm, and if mgm are saying that it was out of their control, then who the hell is responsible for the worst decision ever made in stargate history? Pass the buck anyone?????
What else do they have to show?
Since Stargate SG-1 is no longer running, Stargate Atlantis is the only program on Sci-Fi that entertains my interest, mainly because it is a continuation of the Stargate theme. There's no question that Stargate SG-1 was the coolest and best space based science fiction show ever, way better than Star Trek. Shows with the Stargate theme should continue for a long time.
Stargate Atlantis is the only program we watch on Sci-Fi now. First Farscape was cancelled, then Stargate SG-1 and now Stargate Atlantis. Guess we don't need the SciFi channel anymore.
I just cant believe please say it isnt true - now that Stargate SG1 is gone Atlantis was the only thing left that I truly loved. Please keep them - the show is absolutely wonderful. Mel Reed Tacoma WA
This is one of the best shows around. Stargate Atlantis is indeed one of the few shows I make time to watch. Its going to get very boring here real quick when they cancel the show.
If this petition or any other petition has even the slightest chance of keeping the show from leaving. Then I am all for it and yes I'll sign any other petition that comes up. I just want the show to keep on coming every Friday night. There are so many horrible shows out there.
I don't get it. How can the networks come up with money for so many horrible shows and yet not come up with money for shows that clearly and indeed have an wide audience. Please don't take the show away.
Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis are rivaled in story only by Lost and Fringe. They are so well done. No cheesy effects and great actors in all of them. SG-1 was good even when Richard Dean Anderson left the show. The writers have been able to keep the attention of the fans for 15 years and that is no small task. Keep this show on the air. The Sci-Fi Channel has done a good job coming out with shows that compete with the networks and this is one of their best.
I am doing this for my husband who loves the show.
It seems to me The Powers That Be at MGM and the Scifi channel have forgotten that they are not the only ones with powers. We the fans have a power also....to watch or not to watch. So on my to do list:
Watch the final episode of SGA--boycott the Scifi channel and Stargate Universe when it airs (sounds like a cheap ripoff of Star Trek Voyager)--Ratings fall--advertizers pull their ads--network loses money--heads roll--with luck we get someone in charge who listens to the fans--MGM puts out a Stargate Atlantis movie--don't buy it--Studio takes a bath--heads roll--with luck we get someone in charge who finally realizes you don't have to cancel a series to make a movie.--End of list. Of course the only way this works is if we follow through...use your power. If not then the next Stargate will be cheaper, fewer episodes, get cancelled sooner, and another DVD movie for a quick buck...wash, rinse, repeat!
My family and I are have enjoyed both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, we own every season that has been released so far and all three movies. How wonderful to continue the idea in a new series Stargate Atlantis. There is still so much to learn about each character and to build on with each character - how they see themselves, their relationships, their love life. How can you let it end without giving us all this? SG-1 went on for ten seasons and two movies hopefully more there are so many more stories out there that they can tell Please, please, please keep Stargate Atlantis! We also look forward to your next show stargate universe that it coming next year. As a loyal Star Trek fan your shows were better then the last incarnation of Star Trek ever could have been. You have to keep this show going for as long at the stars are willing.
im watching stargate atlantis right now, i just finished the 4th season, i cant believe this, how could they. bring it back. please. we love you stargate.
give us back SG-1.continue SGA until 10th season or more....
SGA is my family, Dont take them away. Debit my account for shows but leave SGA alone.
Just like Farscape, Firefly and others, hugely successful and loved shows. They don't care, it's just business to them. I won't be buying their DVD's so they have lost any revenue from me.
