Save the Planet!!23 Pledges
Issue:As you all you know we are experiencing global warming. But did you know that there is something that we can all do to help save the planet?! All you have to do is help recycle or even switch from incandescent lightbulbs to compact fluorescent lightbulbs. Click on the link below to learn more of what you can do to help save the planet!Belief:http://www.stopglobalwarming.org/sgw_read.asp?id=121544172006Loading People... |
everybody needs to keep the earth beautiful cause there is only one. it blows my mind how many people dont care! its sad. i do everything i possibly can and everyone should to. respect the earth and its magnificant beauty cause you live in it.
Save our planet you live in it. What happens when the world comes to a end cause we didn't help or do the best we can? Think about that.
Hello from Australia
I hope the short presentation on Soil Carbon at http://www.soilcarbon.com .au/case_studie... might be of interest to you.
Boosting soil organic matter levels is one of the only real ways to deal with the existing excess legacy load of carbon dioxide currently in the
atmosphere.
It also increases farm production, helps rural rebuilding, reduces the impact of drought and incidence of flooding, builds biodiversity and
genuinely starts the healing of the World's river systems. It may sound too good to be true, but it works.
Increasing the Organic Matter content of our agricultural soils by 1% would capture BILLIONS of tonnes of atmospheric carbon dioxide, improve
drought tolerance, build bio-diversity, and reinvigorate rural communities.

wat ever happend to caring about the eco system?
I've already changed all my light bulbs, but I pledge to do more. Good link, thanks for posting it.
SAVE THE PLANET!!! ITS OUR HOME!! AND WE ONLY HAVE ONE!! WHY ARE WE DISTROYING IT!!!! I DOSNT MAKE N E SENSE :( BECAUSE ITS THE FUTURE GENERATIONS THAT WILL PAY!!
I am not trying to stir the pot... does the mercury in the compact fluorescent bulbs making it into landfills outweigh the energy savings by using them? there are always checks and balances to items. I love shrimp, but have a hard time eating them knowing the eco-damage caused to get them.
DearRandy,
I am glad to knowabout your concern towards global warming. You would find very few things that do'nt have a darker side to them. The CFL bulb must not be dumped in the landfill. It should be disposed of properly so that the mercury does not cause any damage. So is the case with electronic waste, which need not end up in landfills. As regards eating shrimp, would you please elaborate?
Hi Randy, this is an honest question, I don't know much about fishing and I know there are some fishing methods that hurt the oceans by scooping everything up. But I like shrimp too but I wouldn't eat it if they way they fish for them does harm. How do they fish for shrimp? And what damage does it cause? If they are doing something stupid, i would like to know because I don't want to support something that hurts the environment. thx, Wes.
