Save Wrigley Field!!!Forum Discussion for Save Wrigley Field!!! I am a St. Louis Cardinals fan and even I agree with keeping Wrigley Field. It's one of the original stadiums of baseball. The Cubs have never played anywhere else. You can't change the name! Just like what Nita K. said, it's a part of baseball history, it's an icon. Submitted by Rhonda O. on Fri, 04/25/2008 - 16:41
I've been watching the Cubs play at Wrigley since I was a little girl. We CANNOT let this happen!!!!! Submitted by Nita K. on Sun, 04/06/2008 - 04:11
I can not believe the GREED in Pro Sports! Changing the name of Wrigley Field to some Corporate name is nothing but GREED... just more money in the pocket for the owner! Wrigley Field is a true icon of Chicago and American Baseball, I can not imagine the CUBS playing anywhere else but "WRIGLEY FIELD". Just a couple of months ago, a friend and I were talking how Pro Stadiums for baseball, football and basketball are either tearing down their existing stadiums and building "Bigger and Better" stadiums and/or renaming them... example: Minutemaid Park. I told my friend, they had NEVER, EVER do that to Wrigley Field, it's part of Baseball history. And now, I hear that they are considering changing the name, it's unbelievable! This guy has got to be a complete idiot and should have his head examined. "WRIGLEY FIELD" - May you continue to LIVE ON!!! From a baseball fan in Texas! I really hate it when some large corporation puts their name on a facility. They change the name every time the property is sold or when the "lease" runs out. Then some other large corporation puts their name on it. Give me a break. If the sponsors want to put up a great banner announcing their major contribution, fine, but leave the name of the facility alone! Submitted by Diane R. on Fri, 03/21/2008 - 15:20
First I've heard of this since I moved away from Chicago many years ago. I still consider it home and changing Wrigley Field would be a travesty. Submitted by Michael P. on Fri, 03/14/2008 - 07:35
Why change something that is baseball and everything baseball is about. It is a baseball icon, and if you change the name you destroy nestalgia, and you change baseball. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard!!! Submitted by Stacey h. on Thu, 03/13/2008 - 14:13

changing the name of the park would be a total mistake. Wrigley field is what people think of when they think chicago, cubs, baseball. Loading People... |
