Should Gov't Regulate Salt in Foods?Forum Discussion for Should Gov't Regulate Salt in Foods? Submitted by Wesley S. on Sat, 03/22/2008 - 19:17
I think that in snack food and some other foods it should be regulated. Hypertension, high blood pressure is the number one killer of men. It is also called the silent killer. The human body needs some salt for the sodium/phosphorous cycle to work, but beyond that you are getting too much of a good thing and hypertension, cadio-vasculor disease and heart attacks are the result. When I turned 18, I gained the right to make my own choices...I don't feel like the government needs to step in where my parents left off. The governments job should be to serve and protect...and otherwise stay out of my business. Loading People... |
