Issue:

Mark McGwire is best known as the slugger who broke the single-season home run record in 1998. McGwire was the first player to break Roger Maris's 1961 record of 61 home runs in a single season; he set the new mark by hitting 70 homers in 1998. Many of McGwire's accomplishments, particularly his home run surge late in his career, have come into question with his connection to the steroid scandal plaguing Major League Baseball.

Belief:

Players are currently inducted into the Hall of Fame through election by either the Baseball Writers Association of America (or BBWAA), or the Veterans Committee, which is now composed of living Hall of Famers and recipients of the two major awards. However, the power of public opinion is strong and influenctial. So what does the public think? Should Mark McGwire be elected to the Hall of Fame? You Choose.
