Description:
President Obama is expected to sign executive orders directing the CIA to shut what remains of its network of secret prisons and ordering the closing of the Guantánamo detention camp within a year. (The intelligence agency built a network of secret prisons in 2002 to house and interrogate senior Al Qaeda figures captured overseas.)
This order would require an immediate review of the 245 detainees still held at the naval base in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to determine if they should be transferred, released or prosecuted. The order calls for a cabinet-level panel to grapple with issues including where in the United States prisoners might be moved and what courts they could be tried in.
Do you agree with the decision to close Guantanamo detention camp?
NO! I do not think this detention camp should be closed! It's asking for another 9/11 attack and it's disrespecting all of the hard work our troops have done to keep us safe since those AWFUL 9/11 attacks. Also, it's tremendously disprectful to the families who suffered loss due to 9/11. GOD HELP US ALL! There's a petition that can be signed if you feel that it should not be closed at: http://www.moveamericafor ward.org/index....
So, by closing a base that could not be constitutional on American soil, you are disrespecting our soldiers? Well I still hold my oath to the constitution very dear to my soul even having been out of the Army for twenty years. The constitution and the way of life that we get from it is what I and my compatriots served to protect. to eat away at our rights and liberties is what is disrespectful. Do not be a blind patriot, please. Look at realities while you are deciding what is right for yourself. We have due process for a reason. We Vets shed blood so you could. If our forefathers wanted us to be persecuted at the governments will, they would not have spent so much time bickering to ratify the documents like the Bill of Rights.
Guantanamo is fuel for those who are terriost.
