Yo soy fanatico de Star Wars y tengo una coleccion de estos juguetes, pero ademas tambien me encanta el Señor de los Anillos, ambas trilogias son de lo mejor!!!! Submitted by Josh F. on Sat, 03/22/2008 - 18:05
Starwars: benchmark in moviehistory, the first 3 at least. I must say that SW had horrible acting but the groundbreaking special effects made up for that. LOTR has more all time lasting appeal, better acting and a more believable story. Both moviesagas are essential for any movielover. Submitted by Andrés C. on Sat, 03/22/2008 - 04:35
This is an unanswerable question for me. Too difficult. I like them both the same. They both are modern mythology! The greatest myths of the 20th Century. Submitted by Vishnu Ram P. on Fri, 03/21/2008 - 14:00

There is only one reason. I believe both story speaks the same behind the stories itself. It's in the core. But I _believe in Star Wars essence, because it has saved my life, in all sense of the word. Thank you Mr.Lucas !!! Even if all others should loose their faith, I'll not !!!! lord of the rings = for girls darth vader isn't dead! Submitted by Joshua J. on Wed, 03/19/2008 - 04:16
Hey, a true Jedi cannot be beaten. Luke Skywalker has beaten scores of witches, if you ask me. Even if the wizards of LOTR may attack him with all their strength. They are living and therefore can be affected by the Force and can be repulsed by it. Star Wars is technically the reason why we have all the special effects. Industrial Light and Magic was the first company spurred by Star Wars to create the stunning visual effects. (It's owned by Lucasfilm). I have nothing against LOTR, it's a great novel series. I admit it's a nice movie, but Star Wars is the mother of it all. It was the mother of the best visual effects we have now and no one can refute that. It makes it the best because in spite of the low technology in the 1970s, Star Wars made it all possible for us to experience space and great visual effects. Simple!! sorry, joshua j, i love star wars, but "if you ask me" two hobbits with no special powers, and a horrible little creature saved the middle earth!! I couldn't say who would win in a fight between a Maia (an angel, and as you called them, wizards) and a Jedi, because the Maiar where the Jedi of the Middle Earth, and the Jedi were the Maiar of that galaxay, far, far away. And over evrything, its a non-sense "fight" Submitted by Michel K. on Mon, 03/17/2008 - 11:02
I must say that even if I've seen bought of the movies, ST is cool but LOTR with his heroes is the must amazing film who it was maden and realised by hollywood and im not alone in that opinion.Thank you. Submitted by marc c. on Sun, 03/16/2008 - 03:59
star wars is lord of the rings,at least to begin with,i was born in 1970,my father is a bookdealer,at the age of 7,i saw starwars whilst reading the hobbit,i first read lord of the rings just before seeing return of the jedi.i love both of them,i also love the harry potter series, they are all basically the same story set in different realities, starwars wins for me because i grew upwith it but that doesnt make it the best Submitted by willy n. on Sat, 03/15/2008 - 21:00
ok this one is a hard one, i myself am a fan of both sagas, anyways lord of the rings is cool and all the special effects are also good, but remember that the trilogy has been realeased in the early 2000's, i mean they had more new technologies than the original star wars trilogy from the70's and 80's which still was good so in my opinion i think i like the star wars saga better Submitted by chris n. on Thu, 03/13/2008 - 18:23
While I think Luke is a little bitch, Star Wars gets the nod. It is more creative, imaginative, and it's way cooler to get a lightsaber for Christmas than a piece of jewelery. Submitted by Cody D. on Thu, 03/13/2008 - 07:33
Both the Star Wars saga and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy are epics in their own time. Both have romance, comedy, action, adventure, heroes and villains, and a plot to save the galaxy/earth. But George Lucas created Star Wars through his own works (and borrowed from others)- Peter Jackson made these movies as an adaptation of an already-told story. The Lord of the Rings had goblins, trolls, elves, and dwarves...fantasy elements that we've already heard of. Have you heard of a Rodian in other fantasy/sci fi works? How about a gundark? Or a bothan? Again, works that originated from Lucas. The visual and sound effects used the original Star Wars trilogy were legendary at the time, revolutionary, whereas Jackson used CG and other effects that were built and used for roughly ten years (albeit he did have his computer programmers develop a new program to use all the armies to have personalized minds, not singular). Star Wars also takes you to places that Middle Earth cannot, with vehicles and weapons that we've never seen. And you can't have an epic movie without good music, and John Williams' score for the saga is perhaps one of the best orchestrations of modern time. Keep in mind that I'm not putting down Howard Shore- he is great composer in his own right. Williams' was just...well, better. Overall, Star Wars for me is the better choice, and not just because of the cool lightsabers and spaceships. Submitted by Arien E. on Tue, 03/25/2008 - 22:44
special effects do not count to make a good film or book in its contents. For those who like Star Wars (like me): Have you heard about a Maia, about Varda, Manwë or Morgoth, about Balrogs, about Hobbits, about Nazgûl, about a Silmaril? and there aren't stupid common elves, and there are no goblins!! i think our good friend randle from clerks hits the nail right on the head in clerks II. enough said. star wars Submitted by Felicia P. on Wed, 03/12/2008 - 09:10
I must say that even if I've seen bought of the movies, I can't say that one of them is better without a long time of thinking and I'm still not sure I did make the right choose. But if you first of all takes a look at Star Wars is episod I II and III way much better made than the other ones and it's true that lotr maybe is better made then all of the Star Wars. But the contents is better in Star Wars Special episod I II and III and still I'm totaly stuck in lotr. I love bought of the movies and if I first takes a look at lotr I say "This is the best movie I ever seen and then I takes a look at Star Wars and Says the same thing, but right now, I have to say that Star Wars is WAY better then lord of the Ring. (Even if Lotr rocks Star Wars episod I II and III is kind of better)(Especialy episod III even if I don't like the end.) Submitted by Jacob B. on Wed, 03/12/2008 - 01:34
Although they are both awesome movies and alternate movie series, Star Wars is, with no doubt in my mind, better then LOTR. Loading People... |
