A debate that sparked almost six months ago after numerous incidents, still nothing drastic has been done to change our policy towards hazardous imported toys. I believe that most of us feel that dangerous toys should be screened out BEFORE being available to consumers, not after. The entire recall process is reactive and not proactive. Even once a recall is issued, it has very limited effectiveness as we depend on retail stores to remove the items from shelves. 

Join me in this petition to US Congress, that voices the opinion that the true burden here MUST be on manufacturers and retailers, NOT the consumers. We need to identify these known problems before products enter the marketplace. We must make these manufacturers submit to consumer demand, if they refuse - they should not be operating in this country.
